Positive Review
So, I have been driving my Fit for almost 11 months. I have put 46,000 miles plus on it so far. I am about to replace my factory Firestone tires. I think I am ready to give this car a review. First the cons. The biggest one is the 35,000 mile, bumper to bumper, factory warranty! Really Honda? Yes, I bought the Fit anyway. But here is my complaint; your products are well made and have a history of excellent reliability. So with that said, why not be competitive with your rivals; Ford, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and do better on the factory warranty? Why not match them and offer at least 50,000 miles bumper to bumper? Your lower priced competitors cover their products for that long and some warranty their cars for 100,000 miles. The next con is the center armrest, it is about 7 inches too low to rest your elbow on while driving. The other big issue is the flimsy undercarriage shield that protects the oil filter and oil pan. The car sits very low, there is very little clearance and this plastic panel, held on with plastic clips partially detached and was dragging on the pavement after I hit a puddle of water! A belly flop on a puddle detached this shield. I wish this panel was made of something a little less flexible and held in place with steel bolts, attached to something a little more sturdy? It can't protect much under there if a puddle can detach it! The left outside mirror has this little black vertical line at the far end and it is supposed to be for blind spot assistance? I still don't see what assistance it is supposed to give the driver? The access to the dash power adapter to plug in a charger is a bit too low, and it is kind of in the way of the console's left cup holder and storage. The cabin noise is there, it is not excessive but it is noticeable when driving at highway speeds. I had one warranty replacement; a bum left front strut. One recall to change out the attachment bolts for all 4 door handles. Both of those repairs went well without a hitch. Here's another thing, more of a pet peeve for some, but for me it is important. I do not depend on the service oil life reminder to tell me when to change the oil and filter. Supposedly the oil life reminder monitors the health of the engine oil and it tells you when your oil has 15% life left and that is when Honda says it is time to change the oil and filter. So based on how I drive, if I let the oil life get to 15%, that would mean an oil change every 11,000 miles!! Sorry Honda, but that is just too many miles between oil and filter changes! I am old school and change it based on miles. The Pros, I love to drive my Fit, and I drive it a lot. I am used to a powerful, full size, crew cab pick up. I am used to power, cargo space and good visibility. This was going to be a big change for me and I was consigned to accepting disappointment as part of the deal. I am so surprised at how much pep the Fit has and how much I can haul inside the rear cargo area and the back seat. I have plenty of power to merge onto the freeways and I can pass and leave the 18 wheelers behind me in the dust with ease. The visibility is great, for being so low to the ground. The lane watch camera is one of my favorite EX extras! The back up camera is very nice to have as well when backing out of cramped parking situations. I love the magic back seat, and the headroom in the cabin. My 6 foot tall, long legged teenage Son can sit comfortably in the back seat, with room between his knees and the back of the front seat to spare. The spacious back seat is one of the main reasons I chose the Fit. The fuel economy you get in this car is awesome. Especially when you are used to feeding a pick up truck! I get on average 37 to 41 mpg per tank combined city and highway and 42 to 45 mpg per tank highway. I usually drive my Fit in eco mode and let the CVT do its magic. This car loves to run between 60 mph and 66 mph. This is the sweet spot for maximum fuel economy like I am getting. I love using the Bluetooth to live stream music and hands free calling. It even reads my texts to me and can give a brief reply, which is convenient. I really enjoy the moon roof, what a nice little extra touch. The steering wheel controls are a great plus too! The Fit's handling is positive and responsive. The brakes are solid. This little car can come to a very abrupt stop from highway speeds to zero and the ABS keeps you in your lane and in control. I have had to make several evasive moves to avoid collisions with deer and crazy drivers at highway speeds and never once did this little car handle unpredictably or body roll when swerving. The Fit feels "weighty" for its small size and it has a low, wide and stealthy stance. The Fit handles adverse weather conditions well and it is very maneuverable in tight spaces. I got value for the money spent and I do not regret my purchase.
Critical Review
I have liked Honda's in the past but I think that their products are getting worse. We bought this vehicle brand new. At 39K miles the radiator decided to completely fail with no indication inside the vehicle. Within minutes the head gasket had blown and the vehicle was not drivable. Honda did not cover the repair because the vehicle warranty is only good until 36K miles. The radiator should not have failed this early, and at the very minimum the vehicle should have given the driver a warning that the car was overheating! DON'T BUY A NEW HONDA FIT!!!

I've had this car two years with no issues. Regularly maintained now all of a sudden it's falling apart and now the transmission is failing. So sad bc I love it. 97k miles.
Love everything about it.
Maybe more safety features would be good.
Gas mileage is great. Small but fast with paddles.
Reliability, gas mileage, great air conditioner
Hmm? I'm happy....
Honda Fit had a few features that really attracted me. First was the great gas mileage I knew I would get with Honda Fit. The next was the smooth drive I would get from Honda Fit. And the final attraction I looked for was the how easily I could park a smaller car like Honda Fit in a major city.
Buy it!! Had this thing going on 7 years, never let me down! It’s smooth and sleek and I was upset that they discontinued after 2020 Amazing , 10/10
This car is perfect for me and my wife. The reare seat folds completely flat and increases cargo space beyond your imagination. If you want to run your car to its full potential then put fuel with detergent. I only use mobil/Exxon fuel. I used cheap gas before and engine light was on once a year. But after using mobil/Exxon fuel I have not seen any problem. Hope this helps.
Mpg, range, reliability
Comfort, performance
Car has good mpg even after 10 years ( approx. 32/38). Has decent trunk space. Paint on hood and rear seems to be damaged easily.
Safety features, accessories, no major repairs
Battery, Odometer display, needs mild climate
My car is mostly reliable but has some major cons. Pros: 1). Great safety features with side camera, as well as rear camera angles. I’ve heard some people complain about their side camera not working, but I figured out the hard way that it’s quite easy to turn off without realizing it, and easy to reset. 2), It’s got some pep for a smaller car, and the small size is great to navigate around in and can be helpful with narrower roads, parking spaces, etc… 3). Gas mileage is great 4). Design is cute and love my moon roof, accessories, blue tooth capability, seat warmers are great for cold days. Leg room isn’t an issue for me (I’m 5’10” and have had people over 6’ drive without feeling inconvenienced in room). 5). I’ve had few mechanical issues needing repairs Cons: 1). The odometer display has a mind of its own. I’ve looked this up and it’s apparently a common issue and there’s not much to do about it. Battery and everything (including weather outside) can be great, and still the display will act up/freeze randomly. It’s usually temporary but can last long enough that it is highly inconvenient if it acts up when you’re trying to keep track of mileage, fuel efficiency, and re-setting oil monitoring, after oil changes, etc... Thankfully the gas light and other alert lights are separate from the display screen. 2). Batteries aren’t great for colder climates. I’ve never had to have a car jump-started, due to cold weather-related issues, until I bought this car. I don’t know if this is a general issue with Honda (there seems to be a theme with people I know having similar issues that own Hondas), but it’s definitely something I’ve run into with my car (also my first Honda). 3). It sits pretty low, so a snowier climate can present issues, but if you’re acclimated to such a climate, you likely know the tricks to accommodate snowier days. Overall, if possible, I’d give this a 2.5. I think in the right climate, this car likely can be much higher rated. I live in a 4 season area that can dip well below 0 F, as well as can accumulate enormous amounts of snow. The snow isn’t an issue to me, as someone who has driven and dealt with snowy winters for decades, but when it’s frigid out (usually if it dips into -10 weather), you better make sure you have a jump-starter and/or park your car in a garage, as well as ensure accessories are turned completely off before starting the car. Your battery could be brand new with no wiring issues, etc… and it will still not start until it’s jumped by something powerful.
There are so many things wrong with this car. I can't begin to list them all. We will never by a honda ever again. Wish we could just set the thing on fire.
