Positive Review

"It's a practical car"

The exterior looks like if you get a cat, put your forefingers and thumbs together, and push your finger-circle over the cat's head so it pushes the ears back. It's a quirky little car that seems to attract frugal old ladies who need something efficient that can also carry Craigslist furniture, and young bachelors who were probably attracted by the fact you can put a bike or two in it without the extra steps of applying a bike rack. It's a car you can slap a Monster sticker on and take to Comicon...again and again and again, because a Fit with 100k miles is still just a "teenager" in Honda years. If the car had a spirit animal (other than a cat with its ears pushed back), it would be a gryphon. However, instead of being half-eagle and half-lion, it's half-go-kart and half-minivan. It somehow works, though. The cargo capability is impressive via the multi-way folding seats and train tunnel of a back hatch combined with a high ceiling. While it's not a fast car, per se, with a manual giving the driver direct control to tell the 1.5L V-tec when and how to pull the roughly 1 ton chassis, it's a zippy car that can actually pass on the highway AND gets over 40 MPG. Owners of the automatic may be less impressed. It drives like a go-kart but it also FEELS like a gokart, with a spartan interior and very light-weight feel inside and out. While it has some amenities like an aux port, cup holders, center console storage, side airbags, cruise control, and power windows, mirrors, and locks, the ride is stiff and the cabin allows a lot of road noise. The front door pillar bearing the painted metal of the body serves as a reminder that your box on wheels is not an armored tank.

"Another Toyota in 21 Payments"

CONS After 22,500 miles I can't wait to get back to Toyota. Clutch grabs and pedals too close together. Size 13 steel toes cannot be used. Back to dealer 5 times for misc problems Replaced gas cap Coughs and sputters on BP regular Lights flicker with low rpm. 2 trips to get new airbag download Geared too low for interstate travel - 3600 prm@70mph carpeting -inferior Paint was extremely easy to scratch till it cured after a year - 8 wax coats helps PROS 38 mpg average w/max inflation decent hauling capacity for minihatch

A lot fits in a fit
Pros

It fits a lot inside. Turbo. A manual drives sporty.

Cons

You’ll feel the road. Radio screen is nearing unreadable.

Super reliable. I have the manual. This ‘08 Fit Sport with turbo gets great gas mileage, is a very fun little ride with an abnormally large amount of room due to some efficient Japanese designs which maximizes the cab space. I was sold on my test drive and am completely happy I bought mine a few years ago after barely clipping a deer with a Scion D. The manual transmission is a blast. It gets going. No problem passing others on the highway when called upon.

2007 Honda fit

Loved my fit...i wish i still had it. I had 550,000 miles on it...same engine and transmission. If you keep up on all fluids, your car will last forever.

Amazing little car-And the first model year of it!
Pros

Reliable and lasts forever

Cons

Lacks creature comforts so plan accordingly

I love Hondas, or at least I used to.. Anyway, I drove a Honda CRX in high school (I'm 52) and I bought a 2007 Fit so that I could move my pinball machines around (yes the cargo space is incredible). Mine, the 2007 Fit base model for which the 5 stars have been applied, had no keyless entry so I added it. It had a terrible stereo with a single CD so I replaced that with an Android based stereo which provides Google Maps/Waze when tethering to your phone. I bought a 2018 Fit and was going to sell this one. Come to learn after owning and driving one and putting only 2500 miles on it that the 2018 is the biggest failure imaginable!!!! After only 3 months of ownership I dumped it due to the direct injection and associated failures. I then removed my 2007 from being for sale and I will keep it for absolutely ever. I saw a 576,000 mile example recently for sale on ebaby. I decided we would keep ours and gift it to our daughter later. So disappointed that the 2018 version is so terrible. Oh and it applies the brakes FOR you if it decides you're too close to the person ahead of you. Um, just no.

Excellent car for a couple.

It was my car for 13 years and my daughter still has it. We gave it all its maintenance on time and it has never had any problems. I made several continuous 4-hour trips and always felt comfortable on it. I love that car and the only reason I traded it in is because I need a new car for my retirement.

Love my 2007 Fit Base Grandmama edition!
Pros

SPACE! Timing chain! 300k life expectancy.

Cons

Paint, small, not comfy. BUT - CHEAP, RELIABLE!!!!

What a fantastic little Honda. Someone's granny bought mine new. I bought it with 69,000 miles. This is a no frills, roomy go get whatever the F you need to. I move pinball machines in mine. Yeah you read that correctly. Every pinball machine I own (7) were moved in this car. The paint is absolutely trashed and the quality of the paint on Hondas in this era across many models was horrible. Who buys a $6k car trying to impress people? Heck I stopped caring what people thought about me a long time ago! With an expected lifespan of 300,000 miles with a 10 gallon tank that gets 300 miles give or take who the president is at the time (vote better) this car for what it does, how it lasts, and what it costs, should be the first car every young new driver ever owns. Oh did I also mention the * * * * * safety rating?

Hondas "Mis" Fit
Pros

CHEAP PARTS for a good car

Cons

Handling at 85+ is squirrelly

I can fit inside very easily for 5'11 270, I like small cars, 103hp from sport is sad and.... The sport options left off at the trim and spoiler, which if Honda threw the k20 series engine inside this thing would be one of the first factory Hot Hatches, the sway bars need upgrading same with the rear suspension, and there's an open recall if you're in a state with road melting agents most of the year, your drive shafts could snap, and not from the all that vicious torque the sport model has either, salt gets trapped under some thing or another. But IF you're reading this is the best part, if you can get a good mechanic good and cheaper, ie friend or diy, PARTS ARE DIRT CHEAP! I had an engine and trans with 58k for 750$ put in for about the same and that was more expensive units. I've seen them for very cheap. So yeah it's a good car just watch your speed if you're feeling that rear end slide it's your sway bar get an aftermarket one and good coilovers, it'll handle like crazy. GL

Hondas "Mis" Fit, ehh sport?

I'm used to small cars, I prefer them, and I'm a big guy and can easily fit in this, not 600lb life big, but 5'11 270 big, the car is a "sport" model has the same engine as base, d1.5lb7 which in USDM we lost the turbo, so 103hp for a sport saddens
