Positive Review

"Like the Car except Trunk Space and MPG"

I purchased this car at the end of May 2014. My commute to work is 154 miles RT every day with 70% being Interstate at 70 MPH and the remainder small town and 55 MPH two lane black top. The MPG has been disappointing considering the 51 / 45 claim. On my daily trip I average about 42 MPG using the best driving habits I can. The trunk space is dismal and I do not like the fact that there is no spare tire. The ride and handling are very good. I really enjoy the sound system and blue tooth connectivity. The interior fit leaves something to be desired because the car has several temperature and vibration related rattles in the interior.

Critical Review

"Great MPG... BUT a pretty lousy ride!"

I bought a new 2015 Accord Hybrid for it's fuel economy, and in that aspect, car does not disappoint. However, I was unaware of just how disappointingly choppy the car's ride would be when the it's software switches between electric engine and gas engine... especially when driving faster than 40 MPH at constant speed. I failed to realize this during the original test drive because I only drove it on the freeway for about one mile (and in heavy afternoon traffic). In short, (whether using cruise control or not) the 2015 Accord Hybrid will intermittently pause and then surge whenever the electric engine disengages from action at speeds north of 35-40 MPH... both annoying and disconcerting since it results in a choppy ride. I took my new Accord Hybrid to the dealer service folks twice for this problem. The first time, I was told to stop using the ECON mode if I wanted a smoother ride. The second time, I insisted on speaking with the service tech who would test drive it. Here's the exact verbiage from the service ticket: "NFP test drove the vehicle and verified customers concern. Took snap shots during the event of the PGM-FI system... etc.. After review of all the snap shot data... it was determined that it is the normal operation of this vehicle." That's a pretty poor response from Honda. I've always be partial to Honda products... but with the Accord Hybrid: Let the buyer beware.

Great Upgrade
Pros

Nice balance between old "button" cars and new "screen" cars, dimming rearview mirror

Cons

Low screen position, better safety features available in newer cars, no spare tire

I bought this car a few weeks ago and immediately took it on a road trip. I had an '04 Accord before this, so this car is a good middle ground to the very techy '25s. I like most of the new features, although I'll admit that some of the safety features are a bit annoying to get used to (particularly the adaptive cruise control). Looks slick but still unique enough to pick out of a parking lot. Engine is very quiet which actually makes the road noises sound a bit louder. Apple Car Play is really worth having, although the screen is still a little low for using with navigation; I found myself looking down more than I'd like. All in all a great car, but for someone as particular as me I still prefer my '04!

Very long, long term review

We purchased our 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring October 2, 2016. As always, we get all service done at Honda. We optioned the car out, so other than heated steering and ventilated seats, it has everything. On the outside, it's Honda, but on the inside, Acura TLX. Plenty of room, front and back. We've driven to California several times without a hitch and very comfortable. We love this car, which is why we have kept it so long. driving in econ mode, 48 - 51mpg at 65 mph. It has a camera mounted in the right rearview mirror so when you turn on the right blinker, you get a view of anything in the lane. Why 4 stars and not 5? The infotainment center is just ok, not as easy to use as it could be. Same with voice commands. You have to say things in a sequence to get to what you want where as in out other car, the infotainment center is seamless and easy. The next thing is the cruise control. The system is slow to get back up to speed if the accident avoidance system kicks in and slows you down. But that's it. We needed another car but wanted an SUV. It took us a while to find one that could equal the performance and pleasure of this Honda Accord.

Great Car

Great car, and runs very smoothly. I have test-driven and seen multiple. Very impressed. Wondering why it is so cheap compared to other hondas.

The best car I have ever had
Pros

Hybrid gives good milage, maintanance free, excel

Cons

None

This is the best car I have ever had. I am comparing with other cars I have owned, such as BMW 325i, Mercedes 350 4Matic, Mercedes 300 4Matic. I have done nothing to car other than filling up with gas and driving. In the summer I get more than 50-55 m/g in the city 42-45m/g in the highway. In the winter 40-45 m/g in the city, 38-40m/g in the highway. Most reliable car, first set of tires ran 80000 miles. I still have the original brakes, which I was told during my last oil change (which is done every 10000 miles) will go for another 30000 miles. I will not sell it, because I bought a Tesla.

Great car!
Pros

Reliable

Cons

Minor problems with cell phone hookup.

I now have over 133,000 on the ODO. Zero repairs, just normal maintenance items (tires, oil, filter, etc). I'm still able to exceed 50 MPG around the city. Most miles driven are highway at speeds nominally ~ 75MPH. Pretty consistently get ~42 MPG in that mode.

Got the 19'' Sport Rims - Look Great / Kills MPG
Pros

Looks Cool both Inside and Outside / Handles Well

Cons

Disappointing MPG / Not Quick

Got it Black on Black with the 19'' Sport Rims, looks very cool. The two screens inside provide a lot of info and add to the slick look. Seven years later, this car still gets a lot of compliments, it has all the Upgrades and looks great in black...BUT. I expected it to be much quicker, it is a slug. It handles at high speed well, due to the wheel upgrade, but at a shocking cost. A major reason that most people buy this car is for the 49 MPG that the Hybrid System provides, at least I would assume so. I expected that the wheels would cost some MPGs but it is costing 15. I thought that it would drop it 5-10, so I'd still get 40, 45, but I'm getting 35, and that's IF I drive VERY conservatively...drive with a heavy foot and that drops to 30. So there it is, drive boring and get 35 MPG or try to get something out of the motor and get 30. All that being said, I regret nothing...the stock hybrid wheels are hideous. If it's a choice of driving around with those things or paying for the extra fuel, I'll happily pay for the fuel.

I LOVE THIS CAR!
Pros

Awesome to drive, great fuel economy, comfortable

Cons

Droney CVT when climbing hills

When I decided to look for something with better fuel economy, my research and test drives ended up determining a Honda Accord Hybrid was the car for me. With the less than ideal availability of new ones in early 2022 I ended up looking at used. Although I test drove the one I ended up with, my initial answer was "hard no" because it has 108k miles on it - even though it was beautifully cared for. Long story short, I ended up buying it after looking around and I have not doubted that it was a great decision. The car drives, runs and feels like a new car. I cannot believe that it has over 100k miles on it. Performance and mileage are great! If I drive nicely I can easily get over 40mpg. Driving 75-80mph with luggage and passing It gets around 38mpg. The power is excellent, steering and handling is spectacular. It is very responsive at all RPMs and safely passing has never been an issue. The only thing that could be improved is the CVT; it can be a little "droney" going up hills and mountain passes.
