Positive Review
I owned a 2011 Terrain and really loved it. So when I saw the new model available, I ordered one as soon as I could. I have had the car 6 weeks. Positives: The styling is great. Looks good inside and out. It is one of the few SUVs with HEATED cloth seats (I hate leather: cold in winter, hot in summer). I bought almost every package available with the SLE AWD model. It has remote start, dual zone AC, electric drivers seat. The front passenger seat folds forward to get more space. Although it is mechanical GMC added a pump up and down feature so you can adjust back, leg space and height. The rear seats fold down flat... something my 2011 Terrain didnt have. I like the three position transmission: 2 wheel, all wheel, and 4 wheel. The 9 speed transmission shifts smoothly and quietly. Adding the turbo 4 (I have the small 4) gives it plenty of acceleration. It also has auto stop, which is much smoother than my wifes Volvo. The ride is a bit stiffer than my 2011, but it is still comfortable for a long highway trip. (Just drove 400 miles on I-95). Turning radius is also better. It has a small under compartment in the back seat which will store the luggage shade and a few small items. It comes with Apple Play and Android equivalent. OK... this is where unbelievable checks in: The AWD Terrain is rated at 24 and 28 MPG. In town, I averaged 25, but on the highway over 32 MPG. I thought maybe the computer was screwed up, so I did the math by hand. Yup, 32 MPG unless there is something wrong with the odometer. Disappointments: Not as much usable storage space as the older terrain (Smaller space under armrest, no storage on top of dash). No moveable back seat. No Sirus standard ( You have to upgrade from a 7 to 8 screen for 1000 for the privilege of getting Sirus) The packages are just stupid and illogical. For example, if you want fog lights, it will cost you almost 10,000 because they only come with the Denali package.
Critical Review
Love the look, space, and overall style but my Terrain has only 3500 miles and weird noise coming from rear end and now check engine light is on already!!! I’m not a happy camper

The best , i live my car , si the best decision that never made, i love the conformity that I feel wen I drive
Heated steering wheel
A lot
if you are washing your terrain, all you have to do to open the tailgate is spray the sensor with water. Also, if you leave your fab in the car and I gets too cold this vehicle won't start.vehicle shifts through gears terrible, and if your a bigger guy your right knee will be sore after driving extended periods. The design of the cruise control is a massive flop and is not a smooth experience. The car is under powered at higher speeds making highway maneuvering unnecessarily dangerous. I don't like the car, I don't trust the car, and cannot wait to get rid of it. 38,000 miles and the brakes and Trans are toast. I have a 2002 gmc 2500 that I choose over this for my family.
McPherson suspension
The vehicle belongs to a family member but the excellence in engineering prompted me to write a review. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to get in. Then the ride comfort was the next. I have hypertrophic bone spurring in my spine so ride comfort is not the norm.. Had to say thank you because my spatial mobility too often is predicated by infrastructure and your commitment to excellence changed that on my recent outing. Thank you.
Great MPG, Instrumentation and Dash Screen easy to operate
Limited on Voice Controls. GMC app is horrible
Purchased in 2019. Comfort is good and easy to operate instrumentation.
Infotainment issues, tranny issues, engine power issues. GMC couldn't care less, these are occuring in all packages.
Luxury
Is a GMC
I have a terrain denaly 2024. Noises came from engine and vibrations that you feel in the steering wheel when the car is a low RPM over 1500. Dealer spend a week with the car just to tell that is normal ARMONICS from the engine block. The 4 tires lose air pressure. We'll, a luxury garbage. Don't waste your money like me in tras. Get a honda , Lexus or toyota.
None
Junk!
Transmission issues at less than 1000 miles. GM has no plans to fix the issue. Dealership has no compassion. “I’m sorry, no loaner cars available”. That equates to… we got your money, now f off. What a joke.
Don't like the transmission, vehicle is not quiet, when I bought it I had to beg for rubber car pads, there is no cover over what you put in the back of SUV also net is gone. Only one pocket on back of front seats. No cup holders except two in middle. front. Seatbelt chocks me as it doesn't stay in place. If I adjust my set to fit me the next time I go to drive it has lowered down. Not happy.
