Positive Review
I use my 3500HD diesel/Allison to pull my 12,000 lb bumper pull trailer with a 1,000 Harley in the bed. It does it with ease. Transmission is smooth and the suspension feels like it's not even hauling the load. Love the interior setup for long trips. The tow package mirrors give me fantastic visibility especially when I want to watch the trailer tires on tight turns. The 2 1/2 inch hitch receiver gives me an added feel of security. I've gotten up to 24MPG when not towing.
Critical Review
The truck pulls and prefers well when it's not in the shop. I've had oil leaks, boost leaks, a few recalls and had the entire power steering system go out (the gear box and pump) oh and now the transmission is slipping. This truck has been a nightmare and I'll never buy another GM vehicle.

Good daily driver
Junk, had to replace the A/C system……
Works ok as a daily driver, but when it comes to towing….. forget it. Towing a 15,000 pound trailer (it is rated for it) It started throwing codes on the freeway for the turbo, it went into limp mode causing us to have to limp off the freeway with a 15,000 pound trailer… Took it into the GM dealer and they gave us a new air filter, yet it did it again and again…… The interior isn’t that bad other than the seat heater stoped working and the piping came out of the leather.
Power and drive quality

One of my favorite trucks ever! Had a Silverado 2500 and loved it also. Duramax doesn’t disappoint lot of power and smooth driving unlike those solid front axle HD’s. Would highly recommend…
Have had one issue in 100,000 miles with the DEF system which was covered under warranty. Lots of power, Had as high as 29 mpg with the diesel (55 mph highway).
Powerful, Looks Awesome, Reliable
Backup camera could be better,
I have 107k miles on it now. Traveled the whole western USA pulling my 43' fifth wheel and its unstoppable. Just set the cruise control and turn on the exhaust brake and I breeze up and down hills. The steering wheel commands are all I need. I had one issue with the #4 injector went bad. Tech said the wiring lead shorted out. Lots of labor to fix it and it was just outside the warranty period. Cost $2500. I use it everyday for work now. I do notice the shift points can be off for a little while if I go from high elevation down to low. Computer catches up though. The truck gets a lot of compliments for its looks. Overall I'd buy it again.

A rock-solid truck. Great tow rig. Tow a 5th wheel toy hauler, 16K lbs and it tows perfectly.
Pulls great

Good clearance, plenty powerful, built in wifi.
LED interior lighting.
Very strong truck, it's the work truck package and rides a pretty rough which is understandable considering its a 3500. It is the best 4 wheel drive pickup I've ever owned. I use it for working in the Oil/Gas Fields of northwestern New Mexico and have yet to have any problems with it. I've had Fords in the past and while the engines in them are ok, the transmissions don't hold up for oilfield use, while I've never had an issue with the GM transmissions.
