"great van"

I bought this van its an 04 it has 340000 miles on it and runs like a champ with original trans and no rebuilt motor

VS

Critical Review

"heat broke right after we bought no one could fix"

good looking nice driving still got most of the original power. alternater at 40k. lifters at less then 65K. driver side window motor. driver side mirror quit. dutch door handle & gas door lift asisters broke. the sliding door handle broke(12 years old). Heat broke almost emmediatlly and no dealer or repair man could ever fix it to last more then 10 days. we used after market plug in defroster. took a big long hard hit buying this van. still have it for the same reason we bought it ,the AWD . not so commin in 99 when we bought it the AWD that is.things broke too quikly. you couldnt keep up. we where wrapped up in trying to get the heat fixed as other issues continued to arise after the dutch door shocks & the alterntor then the driver side mirror we gave up on fixing unless it meant not running

Safari 2002

Great Van
Pros

Great mileage for the size and weight.

Cons

Defective sun housing on transmission.

I have owned the Safari 2002 van for almost 20 years now. Bought it brand new, and have garaged it the whole time. It still looks and runs like new. Had to do the transmission over, because of the defective sun housing, many years ago, they said it was not a warranty issue, so I got screwed by the dealership. Have changed the oil regularly with synthetic. Still running on the same plugs and everything else. Have a trailer hitch, but have never really used it. Has been a great van over the years, have no reason to get rid of it, as it will probably be the last van I ever buy, especially where they don't make them anymore. Overall I have been very satisfied with it.

Love this van
Pros

Has lots of room and lots of storage space

Cons

The motor is not the quietest when it first starts

Got this van from a friend and I love it. I pulled our 20 ft camper and it did squat but the leaf springs are not the best. Going to put helper springs on it and now have a 24 ft so it has a lot of power behind it. It driver like a champ.
