Positive Review
Owned 3 Toyota trucks in the past, but I final decided to try something different. Boy, I don't regret my decision. All around, the truck is a step up from my last Tacoma. Much better power, much better performance, better mileage (20-22 in mixed driving vs my old 3.5L Tacoma with 18-19 mpg), better seating comfort and driving position, better safety and driver assist tech, the truck is just better to live with. No reliability issues in the first year, and the truck feels solid overall with excellent fit and finish. If I had to make any complaints, it would be the side mirrors. I have no idea why the mirrors are so small. I also find some infotainment controls to be too complex. Most basic things area easy enough, but going though menus for things like trip information or adjusting vehicle controls has unnecessary steps. Improvements could be made.....Well, that's it! Overall, I love the truck. Having coming from Toyota trucks, that says a lot!
Critical Review
23 Denali Poor headroom upon entering and exiting. Very stiff bouncy ride. No power mirrors, back slide window or tailgate. Mileage averages about 17mpg. Not good for a 4 cylinder. Radiator leak. Dealer had truck for 2 months. Parts not available. Truck back at dealer again for Hot rubber/Antifreeze smell. Heater blows cold air when set to 70-72. Must set to 75-76 to get heat. Back at dealer now 2-17-24. Dealer has been helpful and provided me with Loaner both times.

lots of power for a little truck
So many manufacturer issues and very little to no solutions
I have a new 2023 evolution for 6 ish months! I’ve had a lot of cars and trucks and by far this is the worst vehicle I’ve ever purchased! Everything from bad experience of GM dealerships down to customer service in the service drive and product quality! If this was the only truck you can buy definitely go for it, but if you can avoid it, avoid it like to Plague! I’ve had issues pre-collision camera, slam it on its brakes during construction, and not being able to turn off the cameras unless I was in the complete stop which my luck I was in a one construction site! When you want a pass a car or just a little bit of acceleration on the freeway, the truck feels like it wants to downshift clunks to transmission hard and slingshots down the road! I got two updates and neither one of them fixed any of my problems! I live in Arizona and towards the end of the summer it took me 20 minutes each morning to let my truck warm up otherwise from first second gear, the transmission would slip into second! Driver seat, no matter how much you manually pull it up it’ll creep down. If you’re licking the engine bay look straight down to your steering rack opion is leaking. Whatever you do avoid this truck and the Chevy product as much as possible.. I’ve talked to three other owners of the same truck newer years and still just as much issues.
Looks amazing and powerful
Transmission issues, and leaks from steering
I’ve had this truck since May new! This is my 10th new car over the 20 years of driving; and this is the worst purchase! Transmission takes 15-20 mins in the morning just to warm up, and if I don’t do that 1-2 gear clunks hard! On the freeway to pass or speed up, the truck does the same, clunks as it revs up rpm to pass! The front pre collision sensor are overly sensitive and picks up non pedestrians, and activate the pre-collision! Rack opinions already leaking. Burns oil. More to list, but you get the idea! Trash build And every service center in the phoenix area has an attitude!! Won’t buy a Gm ever again
Ride and performance, interior, agressive looks
Wish it got a little better gas mileage / Truck has a 9:6 in ground clearance so steps are a necessity
Earlier this year, I was in the market for a new mid-size truck. I considered the 2024 Tacoma, Ranger, Frontier, Colorado, and Ridgeline. The Canyon was hands down the winner in almost every way - driving, power, interior, etc. In addition, it LOOKS awesome and is one of the best looking trucks on the road. After nine months of ownership and 11,000 miles, I still love the truck. Zero issues. One minor recall for seal on the gas tank, but when I got it to the dealership, mine didn't even need the fix. So glad I chose the Canyon!
Great Value, Strong Engine, Looks Great!
Coplicated Infotainment, Poor Rearward Visibility.
