What Owners are Saying About the 1997 GMC 2500 Regular Cab
"I WOULDNT BUY A NEW TRUCK"
"I Love this truck 454 Tonawanda fuel inj with a fifth wheel tow package 230,000 on it burns no oil between changes. Average 14.8 MPG loaded or empty doesnt matter. Growls down the road 65 mph at 2000 rpms. Comfortable bench seat, 5 speed manual tranny tight shifts w/o the clutch. I wouldnt buy a new truck just re-engine this one when the time comes. Interior has held up great for cloth. I just returned from a 1500 miles round trip, road trip and Im not the least bit tired or fatigued its so comfy. Only issue is peeling paint. and a air conditioner vent problem comes out of the floor sometimes but turn it off and on and its OK No rust at all It looks like the paint job will be worth more than the book value but Im gonna do it any way, shes my sweety"
"Great Truck"
"Easy to do repairs, tons of room to work. Solid truck, I have had friends with Dodges and Fords the same year and theirs just rusted away. They are on to new vehicles and mine is still running strong and being worked everyday. I still don't want to get rid of it, probably drive it until a million miles. Has 220,000 miles on it, i got it at a 100,000 and have never even done the clutch. Do take care of my maintenance and have done expected repairs, but Still drives like a dream!"
"supertruck/great reliability"
"Have over 400,000 miles on mine and it's still a great truck. Like the body styling better than the new models. I drive in all conditions, both on and off road and this truck always does what I need it to. Handles just as good in interstate traffic as it does on dirt and gravel roads. Rides a lot smoother than a lot of other types of trucks as well."
