Positive Review
I just bought the 3.8 RWD G80 with the Premium package. I have been watching this vehicular for 2 years - hoping to upgrade from my 2012 Genesis. This car is much better than the already VERY GOOD 2012 version. This feels a bit bigger, more luxurious, and drives a bit smoother. I looked at the Jag XF (to small and too expensive), the Lexus ES and GS, BWM's,Acura and others. This car gives so much for the money. You cannot be a person that wants the "cache"" of a current Luxury car - but over time, the Genesis Brand will be considered a true Luxury Brand (only when they get their own dealerships away from Hyundai), The concierge service try's to make up for a lack of deralerships and is very nice, and likely will cover me until there are dealerships. Just a great car for the money, so well made. Can't think of one thing I do not like.
Critical Review
Brand new 2017 G80 100 miles engine light goes on and car begins to shake and shutter. Messages begin to appear on the navi screen saying car must be serviced immediately. Car went to the dealer who said diagnostics showed coil needed to changed. That done I drove the car home and parked in my garage. Following morning started it up to go out and it was far worse than before. Back to the dealer this time I was told that dealer technicians were consulting with Hyundai techs to try and determine problem. It was determined that the car needed a new fuel injection system. Expressed overnight and installed two days later. Receive a voicemail from the district parts and service manager for Hyundai out of Atlanta. He said that he and an engineer were traveling to Florida to diagnose and repair my car. Wait a minute didnt the dealer just say he was replacing the fuel injection. Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing in this company. Car still returned yet. Cant wait to see what other problems arise. This is poor start to trying to building a luxury brand. Had Lexus for a long time no comparison.

Fast and loaded
No remote start
Just got a 2018 G80 Sport with a twin turbo engine. The car is fast but handles like a bigger car with a smooth ride. The interior is beautiful and the car has all the features you look for in a luxary vehicle.
Performance, safety, durability, reliability
As advanced as it is, automatic start was only available through Verizon and they canceled their contract. Genesis hasn’t developed a new way to auto start. Really important during cold winter season
I purchased this car 3 years ago… one of the best vehicle purchases I’ve made in a long time. Excellent gas mileage, turn ratio, speed, power, quick acceleration and all around safe car.
I’ve driven my used G80 from 45k miles to 99k and it still handles smooth. No real aging in the past two years keeping the wear and tear almost nonexistent. My favorite part of the car is the Luxury feel that rivals that of a Mercedes at near half the cost for some models. I’ll take that over brand recognition any day. All in all some may prefer better performance on this car, however I love it for just cruising around in.
V8 power,AWD, great stereo
Nothing yet
I purchased a 2018 G80 Ultimate in December and love it. Potent V8,AWD and all the creature comforts of any of the high end brands. Have yet to find an issue with it. What an upgrade from my Sonata Limited!!
Stlish ride that looks and feels great. A little
Tire noise at highway speed. Changing brands soon.
I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac and a Chrysler 300. There is no doubt that this car beats them all in every category. Very happy with the performance, the looks and the reliability.
Powerful 316hp, bells
N/A
I have owned BMW 528i M Sport and I can honestly say my Genesis G80 is a better ride, and more powerful.
Luxury Ride but not Luxury Price
Sensitive brakes
Luxury without the high price! The ride is smooth! I have owned it since 20,000 miles and have never had anything go wrong.
Fast Fast Fast
Needs remote start at the fob instead of phone
Bought my wife one in 2015 and traded her 2013 Lexus ES350 she loves it. Decided i wanted one so I bought the 2017 5.0 and got rid of my 2017 RX 350. It out performs and looks better in my opinion. Nothing like having a back seat of groceries after shopping and shaming a Hemi Charger or 5.0 Mustang in the process......Great value.
