That gasoline-powered GV70 is a Kelley Blue Book Best Buy, so this new Electrified GV70 builds on a well-respected platform.
It’s the third electric vehicle (EV) to come from Genesis, whose ambition is to be fully electric by 2030. The company says this model has fewer parts and greater rigidity than the combustion-only GV70. And it’s the first Genesis to be built in the United States.
Sales of Genesis electric vehicles are expanding all the time, with availability stretching past the usual coastal states to places like Colorado, Texas, and Louisiana. Several dedicated Genesis dealerships are also springing up, so buyers can enjoy a more upscale experience rather than just head for a particular corner of a Hyundai showroom.
2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 pricing starts at $39,212 for the Electrified GV70 Advanced Sport Utility 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $66,975 when new. The range-topping 2023 Electrified GV70 Advanced Sport Utility 4D starts at $39,212 today, originally priced from $66,975.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. The prices here reflect what buyers are currently paying for used 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 models in typical condition when purchasing from a dealership. These prices are updated weekly.
Push the Drive Mode button to engage the Sport setting and not only is there a sharpening of responses to the steering and accelerator pedal, the power-adjustable driver’s seat adjusts its bolstering automatically. It holds the driver more firmly in place, in anticipation of some spirited cornering.
Which the 2023 Electrified GV70 can do perfectly well. It’s no low-slung sport machine, but a standard adaptive suspension — that also reads the road ahead to provide the optimum settings from moment to moment — achieves a wonderful balance of comfort and control, favoring comfort by the right amount.
There’s a button in the lower arc of the steering wheel marked Boost. Pressing it pushes output from 429 to 483 horsepower for 10-second bursts (assuming there’s sufficient energy in the battery). Even without it, the Electrified GV70 has plenty of power, which drives all four wheels for maximum traction.
The I-pedal function means one-pedal driving, a speciality with EVs. Click up the left shift paddle beneath the steering wheel to activate, then speed up, slow down, or even come to a complete stop just by varying the amount of pressure on the accelerator pedal. Just hit the brakes if a more forceful stop is necessary.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and researching the current collection of luxury electric SUVs, including this Genesis Electrified GV70.
From the raised driving position, outward vision is fine. And it’s enhanced with standard blind-spot monitoring. The cabin of the Electrified GV70 is also suitably quiet for a luxury compact SUV, adorned with pleasant materials and exhibiting class-appropriate build quality.
Although this isn’t the most affordable contender in its class, the level of standard equipment is high, including features such as heated/ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof. Once some rivals are optioned up to the same point, they would be in a similar price bracket or higher. The top Prestige trim enjoys extra-soft Nappa leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and manual shades for the rear side windows.
Electrification of the GV70 has taken a bite out of rear legroom. The combustion model has 37.2 inches; this one has 36.6. It can get a little tight back there if tall people are seated up front. There’s a similar reduction in cargo space as well.
Only a few details distinguish the 2023 Electrified GV70 from its gasoline-powered stablemate. No exhaust pipes, obviously. And the grille is kind of inverted, so the diagonal lines of the mesh are sunken, rather than the diamond shapes between them. Hidden in this grille is a front-mounted charge port, which makes it more convenient than locating it just on one side.
14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen
Both trims of the 2023 Electrified GV70 range have this generously sized touchscreen with super-crisp graphics and an intuitive operation. The system also includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, navigation, and wireless phone charging.
Ergo Motion driver’s seat
After a time spent “in the saddle,” this standard feature will massage the lower back automatically.
Remote Smart Parking
This standard feature allows drivers to ease the Electrified GV70 into or out of a parking space while standing outside and using buttons on the key fob.
V2L
A standard vehicle-to-load (V2L) function means that the Electrified GV70 can step in to power a refrigerator during a power outage, for instance.
Digital instrument cluster
A 12.3-inch driver information display and a head-up display are both standard in the higher Prestige trim.
Lexicon surround-sound system
Lexicon makes highly respected equipment found in most top-flight recording studios. This 15-speaker/1,050-watt system should delight the most persnickety of audiophiles and is one excellent reason to stretch to the Prestige trim.
All-wheel drive is standard in both versions of the 2023 Electrified GV70 SUV. But it’s not the old-school arrangement of driveshafts and locking differentials. Instead, each axle is turned by an electric motor.
Their combined output adds up to a robust 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Hit the Boost button in the steering wheel and the system conjures up 483 horsepower for a period of 10 seconds.

The new-vehicle warranty from Genesis lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever happens first. The powertrain and battery are both covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. These terms are some of the best in the automotive industry.

Forward Collision Avoidance Assist
Every new Electrified GV70 has a comprehensive array of driver assistance features. This includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, plus junction turning assistance.
Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist
Blind-spot monitoring warns drivers of vehicles in adjacent lanes, while rear cross-traffic alert helps when reversing out of a parking space. These are also standard in the 2023 Electrified GV70 luxury SUV.
Highway Driving Assist II
The latest iteration of Highway Driving Assist is also standard in the 2023 Electrified GV70 SUV. It provides steering assistance to keep the vehicle centered in its lane, but is now intelligent enough to edge over a little if someone in the next lane gets too close.
