Positive Review
We purchased this Van from an Air Force Pilot and his wife at Fairchild Air Force Base, WA in 2004 following my 1st Deployment to Iraq. They had driven it up from Florida, where they had bought it new. With the chassis on a Lincoln Continental Frame the Van had approximately 85,000 miles on it at time of purchase and now has just over 205000. In addition to running children to and from school, and school events as well as a daughter in Club Gymnastics, attending Gym Meats throughout the State for 5 years. My wife was a Volunteer with the Washington Army National Guard Family Readiness Programs logging many, many miles in trips across the State for untold number of Conferences from 2004 through March 2012 when she was hired full time. But she has continued to use it for a primary source of transportation. Maintenance and upkeep being a given, we have not had major expenses except for keeping excellent tires on it. Paint fatigue and another vehicle backing into the passenger rear tail light in a parking lot are the only significant issues it has ever had. As I mentioned from the out set, this vehicle has been a workhorse for my wife while getting 22-24 MPG in a consistent basis.
Critical Review
Owned from new 1995, great fit for my family of 5, good mileage at the time for a 7 passenger van,ran well up to 95,000, the engine head gasket blew ($2800), had coolant leak inside the dash board ($900/100,000), AC went out ($1100/110,000-not fixed), all power windows stopped working by 130,000 (I fixed both fronts for $230 my labor), Front right wheel bearing/struts (1150,000 not fixed yet). Multiple other problems with breaks, air bag light, noises. For me having a van has been very useful for moving large items/family members. I am looking to trade in or sell as is. Just not worth the risk any longer.

Fun to drive, Horsepower, smooth, Strong Engine
Eats up Breaks & Windshield wipers!
I've owned this vehicle for over a year now & it is my first car and I really love this vehicle it's a very dependable car. I live deep in the mountains so we get lots of snow & as long as I have good snow tires this vehicle does fine in the snow. This vehicle also does good going up & down the mountain & never overheats! I once was coming up a large mountain road & the car obviously was low on Transmission Fluid but it kept going fine until I got home and I added plenty of tranny oil & it was fine. This car I have probably abused a lot with offroading adventures and it does perfectly fine. I heavily recommend this car to anyone.
It's the perfect family mini-van.
Check engine light on nearly since I've owned it.
I love Mr. Van. I bought him new. He's seen my kids grow up, hosted boy scouts, girl scouts, several moves, and 2 round trips to California from Texas. He's been a real workhorse and I couldn't have asked for a better van.
Dependable, versatile, economical
It's a minivan
We bought this van new and it had transmission programming problem. Fixed under warranty. It's a minivan...not a luxury sedan or sports car. Couldn't have provided steadier service or dependability.
Good mileage
Paint
I'm not a Ford person, but this Windstar was highly recommended. I was very pleased with the mileage. I bought it in 2011. No leaks.
reliable and comfort, can load almost anything.
Only major repair was tranny about 375,000 miles, still loves highway but has started to dislike city traffic. Plan to run it for another 10 years.
spacesus!
no cruse control
Very nice van just wish it had cruse control
Great value and durability
No left side rear door
This has been an awesome vehicle for our family of 7. We have owned it since 1998. The only major issue it needed was a transmission overhaul. Even with 5 boys the interior still looks like new. The exterior, other than tough grime on the wheels, looks almost new but has no rust. I've checked into some of the newer vans and they all seem really cheaply built compared to this one. I would buy the Ford Windstar anyday over these other pieces of garbage.
Great in snow and rain. Runs all day long.
Paint Fatigue. One Spark Plug almost Inaccessible.
