Positive Review
I’ve had my Lariat for 6 months now and I am happy with it. Although the entry models are very well priced for a brand new vehicle, I chose the Lariat without any upgrade packages as the XL & XLT do not have the current “luxuries” that most would consider standard in a new vehicle. (Push start, dash screen, “leather” seats) The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to suit work and everyday life without breaking the bank. Pros: well priced, well designed interior with ample storage, good on gas, comfortable seats, strong engine, great handling and overall feel without the overbearing ride and size of a truck. Cons: engine auto stop/start cannot be permanently disengaged, sync/bluetooth system can be glitchy on occasion, wind noise at highway speed is noticeable, adding extras to your build can get very pricey.
Critical Review
I ordered a new ford maverick 11 months ago and ford has kept me in the dark the whole time. Ford just keeps delaying delivery. I can’t find out when I may get my vehicle or how much it will cost. Fords ordering system is the worst thing I have ever seen. They do offer an online tracker, but it is completely useless.

4" shorter than my Tahoe was, so easy to park compared to a full size Silverado we once owned.
As happens frequently, couldn't find a truck with all the options I want without paying for several I don't need...and couldn't order as wait time too long and I'd not know how much my trade in would get me by the time I actually traded it.
Bought it 8 days ago new from Ford. Very nice. Turbo runs much quieter than I expected.
Good gas mileage
Unreliable
I bought this Maverick hybrid new in 2022, have had countless problems and recalls completed. This truck has been in the shop more times than any other vehicle i have ever owned. I received a letter from Ford stating that certain engines assembled at the plant in Mexico had a flaw in the engine, crank shaft assembly that could cause the motor to blow up, mine is one of the lucky engines. They offer no remedy other than a 10yr 150000 mile replacement if this happens. Needless to say this truck will not be going on any road trips far from home. Now I have a draw on my starting battery that causes it to go dead after a few days, it's called deep sleep mode and requires a jump start every time. It's been at the dealer 4 times in the last two months with no success in finding the cause. Ford just released a bulletin saying they know this is a software issue, they are working with their engineers and do not have a repair yet. Meanwhile I am making payments on something I cannot drive! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRUCK!
I really don't understand why so many people are raving about this truck. Are they blind and deaf? The ride is acceptable until you hit high speeds, then you better hang on. The fuel mileage is excellent like everyone else says, I am getting mid 40's. Otherwise, this is a cheap, plastic, HORRIBLY squeaky and rattling piece of junk inside the cab. The computer processing power must be from 20 years ago. The radio, dash, GPS and other electronics take way to long to load and the garbage SYNC never seems to be able to connect to my phone contacts. I have owned it since March of 2024 and I only have 4,000 miles on it. It's the lariat hybrid. I would NOT buy it again.
I bought a new 24 Ford Maverick LARIAT AWD Tremor Package. My first road test was a 700 mile round trip visit with family. The vehicle performed well and was very comfortable. It is a great alternative to a big truck.
Such a fun little truck!! Quick to drive and fun to own.
It has everything you would want in a small truck.
The only con would be size, if you are used to driving a full size.
Excellent Handling, and nice power for a 4 cylinder. The Lariat Tremor package makes it a very nice looking vehicle.
heated seats, heated steering wheel, fuel efficient, easy to drive and park
It is a small truck and has limited tow capacity
I absolutely love my 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid. I opted for the Lariat package, which comes with some fantastic features like heated leather seats and a heated steering wheel—something I now consider essential in every car. The 4.5-foot bed is perfect for hauling my bike or kayak, making it ideal for my active lifestyle. There's also convenient storage under the backseat for smaller items, which I find useful. Before this, I owned a Ford Fiesta, and the Maverick is a huge upgrade in terms of utility while still offering excellent fuel efficiency. As a hybrid, it gives me better gas mileage, averaging around 500 miles per tank! For someone like me who drives regularly but also needs a vehicle that can handle weekend adventures, I can’t imagine a better fit than the Maverick. It’s the perfect blend of functionality, comfort, and economy.
MPG, style, handling, stability on road, easy to park.
No fog lights, door storage unusable, no power passenger seat, no auto dimming rear view mirror, leaking bed cover.
Reviewed my 22 lariat AWD last year when I’d had it for 2 days gave it a 4 star after owning it 18 months and 29K miles I’d raise my satisfaction rate to 4.7 stars. Great milage averaging 33mpg. Like it so much bought the wife a slightly used 23 lariat hybrid. Like it even better than the AWD after 4K and 1 month ownership averaging 46mpg that’s 75% highway. Pros: mileage on either hybrid or AWD model, ride is not too bad, fells planted to road, adaptive cruise/ lane keep/ aeb braking. Easy to park Cons: no power passenger seat, no fog lights, door pockets are worthless can’t keep travel mug or bottled water in as they won’t fit, ice scraper falls out every time open or close door. no auto dimming rear view mirror, bed leaks with installed cover, not enough room to adjust power seat with door closed. If Ford would fix a few minor things they’d have the perfect truck.
