Positive Review
I was skeptical of the 100 Mpge rating seen on the sticker, but the car seemed to fit our lifestyle to a tee. In the manual it says not to bother tracking mileage until you reach about 2000 miles. Who would buy a plug-in hybrid and wait that long? So far, we are realizing an overall average of 60.15 mpge! Before you draw any conclusions I will detail our 2000 miles. The first 3 fill-ups were after significant (200-300 mile) road trips at 60-75 mph. 1st there was the road trip home after the purchase - 45.3 mpge. The road trip to see friends - 38 mpge. The road trip to see family (about 30% commute miles on this fill-up) - 53.17 mpge. This last tank of fuel has been all commute miles and running around town. I would estimate that we have about 5% hwy driving on this tank. We are getting 98.71 mpge! To put that in perspective; We have about 1/3 tank of gas remaining (14 gallon tank) and we have driven 899 miles on 2/3 of a tank of gas, or approximately 9 gallons. AMAZING! We elected to hold out for the Titanium trim and I have no regrets about that at all. I would personally beware of any salesman trying to sell a fully loaded SE trim instead of the Titanium. There is a big difference that you have to experience for yourself. With that said, the car is very comfortable and easy to drive. The safety features are easy to get used to; Adaptive Cruise, Lane Keeping, etc. Looks-Well, lets just say that I don't believe there is a better looking plug-in hybrid out there. Sorry Prius guys, but your little elongated VW Bug looks like a cookie cutter compared to the style of the Fusion. Charging is simple and doesn't take as long as mentioned by Ford. With the supplied 120v charger, you can go from 0 to full charge in about 5 hrs. It would be nice to have 2 chargers, but they're too expensive for me. I do not have time to write anymore, but if you are on the fence about one of these cars it is worth it to consider it in the Titanium trim.
Critical Review
I have a 2014 Fusion Energi, it was a great car until it wasn't any more. It just stopped working about a month ago and the dealer is still trying to figure out why it won't start. They have been replacing parts but still have no clue what to do to fix the problem. Up until I had the electronic failure I thought the car was great. I'm just hoping that I get it back before its another year older!

Gas mileage, good tech, comfortable
It's a hybrid, so you're not winning any races, but it still has decent enough performance.
I leased this car in 2017 and the lease completed in 2020, right in the beginning of the COVID shutdown. I bought out the lease and have held the car for 4 more years (and will continue to do so). I love the gas mileage... get around 90MPG in the summer and have gone multiple months without needing to fill up the tank, while commuting almost 25 miles each way to work on a daily basis. Comfortable, reliable and good enough technology (with Apple Car Play, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist).
MPG!! just a good value all around and good size
None I can think of
I bought my 2016 fusion hybrid new and still have it after 8 yrs. I read the combined mileage is 38. Not true in my experience. After 8 yrs it still gets more like 45 MPG. If you do mostly city driving I get around 50MPG in city. I get around 40 on HWY if going 70 mph or less. If you drive like a maniac speeding into stop lights and taking off fast you will get a lot less mileage as with any type car. Its common sense. The advertised 38 is driving reckless. I can get near 60 mpg in city many times. Its been a great car. It's no Cadillac and doesn't have a Cadillac price. It's a good sized car and Ford should've kept building it! Hybrids are the way to go with no range anxiety
Quiet, comfortable, stylish, great gas mileage.
small trunk space, esp compared to gas models
Bought it new, It was one of the last produced. I searched a 4 state area to find it. I'm in Detroit but had to go to West Michigan to find this one. the next closest were in Minneapolis and Avon Lake Ohio. Better colors, but were supposedly sold. the silver is OK, it's acceptable but not thrilling. It's a fusion. Nice looking car, roomy, decent handling, very quiet, especially in e mode, great stereo. Lots of bells and whistles, which all work reasonably well. The lane keeping system could do with a bit more authority IMO, but adaptive cruise and collision avoidance both work great. Mileage: Highway mileage is between 35-40, depending on how heavy your foot is, and altitude. Took a long road trip to the mountain west, over 5000 miles, and that's what we got. Around home it routinely gets 70+ mpg with our retiree driving pattern. No daily commute, just groceries, doctor, out to dinner visiting friends. Electric only mileage varies. In the summer, low speed under 35mpg avg, we get about 22-24 miles per charge. January cold snap this year we got 12-15. As long as it's not in the single digits, and it's been left plugged in overnight, the electric mileage is minimally affected. Bottom line, I'd buy one again in a minute.
Excellent Gas milage and Drives like a dream
No Trunk space.
I have a 2017, I have never had to bring this car to the Shop, EVER. It goes thru front tires very quickly because of the weight and there is no trunk. So we put the Luggage on the roof when we take trips. It get about 18 miles on charge now being 7 years old but the MPG show 87 since we don't usually go to far. On road trips we get about 41 MPG with four people in the car and a roof rack.
Don't buy, has recall now for five months, no solutions, engine light on, full charge gets twenty or so miles, wasted 41,000.00, vehicle is GARBAGE!!!
Hybrid + great gas mileage
none
Great car, we haven't had not 1 issue with it. Nice looking, Roomy interior, all the bells and whistles. Not sure why ford would discontinue it. with 26 miles on charge plus great gas mileage we rarely put gas in it.
Comfortable to drive and all the goodies
Small trunk
I love my Fusion energi and never had any problems yet. It feels like a luxury car and handles great.
Comfort, gas mileage, entertainment tech
Limited trunk space
I have owned this car for 5 years and have traveled many miles with it and have average of 52 mpg. Now at 160,000 miles I have only changed the small battery and tires. I change oil with full synthetic every 5000 miles. I have never had a flat tire or used any kind of wrenches on this vehicle. The brake pads are still good. Vehicle rides smooth is easy on my Bridgestone tires and more comfortable than my previous cars a toyota prius and a kia optima and sedonia. Also more comfortable than my daughters Mercedes small suv. Only down size on vacation trips I would prefer a suv for hauling . Overall this car is a fuel sipping solid midsized sedan with style and comfort of a luxury car. I am well pleased.
