Positive Review
I SUPPOSE THEY QUIT THE 7.3 FOR COST CUTTING REASON TO BAD IT ALSO CUT FORD LOYALTY -- BUY A 7.3 THAT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED REGULARLY AND YOU WILL BE A LOT HAPPIER THAN THE 6.0 OWNER -FORD QUIT THE 7.3 IN VERY EARLY 2003
Critical Review
I have spent more money repairing this 6.0 liter diesel than all of my previous vehicles combined. This may be the worst engine Ford ever put in a truck. After 195,000 miles it died, and I am currently running a used engine that has developed injector issues.i will never own another Ford diesel.

gas mileage is poor
My experience has been sensational. I am just retiring after playing polo on the west coast. I hauled 7 horses from Washing state to Palm Springs California each year for 15 years. all travel fullly loaded with I estimate 14,000 # each time. In Washington I traveled east to west and back again over the high mountain passes of the cascades. I never was failed by my Triton V-10. Rarely had to shift down in the uphill pull. The only repair was a replaced clutch and throw out bearing. Sadly it is time for me to not keep horses. I am retiring and the truck is going up for sale this week. I heartily recommend this vehicle if you want to haul or pull. Suggestions=manual tranny is great. pull 5th wheel trailer for best results.

The best running truck I have ever had Great power very dependable it is the best diesel power plant Ford ever put in a truck
7.3 turbo diesel 6 speed standard trans. 4 wheel drive One owner Sold my business in 2008 . New clutch installed from fly wheel to rubber on the peddle. All hoses were changed out. The truck has not been driven much since then. One mechanic since buying the truck brand new Dec. 1999. Front seat needs covering and left rear fender dented. Tail gate assembly needs replacement. Windshield needs replacing.
You might find a truck like mine with a blown motor for that price... The truck has a small rust spot and runs perfect with low miles for the year. Worse ones run 9-12k all day. Your sight is way off on pricing. In the condition mines in is 12-18k according to what's actually selling in the Kansas city area.
