Positive Review
I have owned 1 Nissan and 2 Chevy trucks over the last 30 years. My last truck was a fully loaded 2003 Silverado crew cab. I wasn't really in the market for a new truck, mine was still in great shape and running condition and I certainly hadn't considered a Ford, but we were out one day and my wife convinced me to look at the new 2013 Ford F-150s. I was really impressed with this truck and then went to compare the equally appointed Chevy.... no comparison. The dealer gave me top dollar on my trade and with several concessions brought the truck price to a point I could work with. I have owned my truck for a little over 6 months now and drove it from Tucson to Southern Florida and back. The ride was smooth and the interior noise was minimal, my wife and I could hold normal conversations even on noisy roads. I never thought I would hear myself say I really like Ford over Chevy, but this truck has changed all that. I am really impressed with everything about it.
Critical Review
I have been a happy Ford F150 3.5 Ecoboost XLT since my truck was new back in may of 2011. The truck had 4 miles on it when I took it off the lot. I have done all of my own maintenance to the truck at much earlier intervals that the truck indicated. I have had some small issues with the spark plugs cracking and needed replacing. This happened on 2 sets of the Ford motocraft plugs before I changed to an Autolite and the problem was resolve. This was probably the biggest issue I had while Owning this truck to this point. I currently have 117,000 miles on the truck and it is now July of 2016. On to the major problem. During this past winter I began noticing a slight rattle upon startup 1st thing in the morning (did not occur for the rest of the day). At first I figured it was the valves clicking due to the oil being broken down and thin or something, so I changed the oil. This issue got better and was less noticeable until now. Now that is is warmer I guess it allows the oil to settle more and cause the timing chain to loosen more causing the rattle. I looked up the issue and sure enough there is a TSB out about this issue. I made some phone calls and received a few different prices on the replacement and repairs required for this issue. Most of them were around 1500. I was not happy about this, but was willing to deal with it. I dropped off my truck and they indicated they would get to it in a couple days or so. I received a phone cal the next morning by 10:00 AM. The service manager indicated that I needed a new motor and turbos. I was totally blown away by this. The truck has been running great, no check engine light, wrench, smoke, nothing! All there was was the rattle. I thought he was messing with me and I asked him to repeat the diagnosis once again and he repeated that i need a new engine and turbos. He said it will cost 11k to complete the work. At this point I told him to stop everything and I would be down to review with them and grab my truck. When I got there I asked for an explanation and they were very certain of the isssue as it has been seen multiple times. They did not even have to take the motor apart to diagnose the issues. They just knew the engine and turbos were going to go. They indicated it could be a week or 6 months but they were certain they were going to go. Like i said the truck was and still is running fine so It is concerning that FORD knows of this issue so well that they can diagnose without extensive investigation, but FORD does nothing to make current owners and future buyers aware of this issue. After the dealer ship I spoke to the Ford Regional Customer Service Rep and they indicated they have no programs currently to help out with this issue. In other words, "sorry for your luck". They did offer to give me a X Plan Code if I wanted to buy a new Ford. That is more of a slap in the face if anything. I have been a long time ford truck owner. This is my 3rd ford truck and is the only one not to make it past 185000 miles. I have grown to assume this is standard as it should be for a 40 k truck that is properly cared for. I have done everything thing possible to preserve the body of this truck expecting the rust to win the battle before the engine gave in..... Apparently this was not true. I strongly recommend anyone thinking of buying a ford let alone an ecoboost to reconsider. Previous Loyal Ford Fan Boy turned Dodge/Chevy Fan Boy. Ford BUYER BEWARE!!!!

This is the best truck I have ever owned! Last year for this model: it has a "steel body" and a 6-speed transmission—which is AWSOME! I got it with the 5.0 COYOTE engine,4X4 which is faster than my last Corvette. It is an absolute joy to drive! But, you might think a truck with an engine that big gets bad mileage. Well, I'm happy to report that this truck gets 20 to 24 MPG, so I'm happy on that score as well.
Runs great, looks great with minor damage due to small accident. Newer tires, steel work box in bed, most miles driven down south in Texas and Oklahoma.
THE BEST! Year, all steal! Motor 5.0 Coyote power, great mileage.4x4 Blue Jean blue gorgeous!! No eco puck! No aluminum nightmare! Oh, I have the bulletproof 6-speed; the 10-speed is trash.
Reliability, comfort, performance, grate look!!!! And this vehicle no loose value, has the same value since 5 years ago
Daily use will broke your pocket (gasoline)
Best truck ever, replacements parts on 12 years ? Brake pads, battery. front right cv axle was changed not because of mal function, was beacause of a jump, the small stud of the cv axle that goes into the wheel hub rarely was broke with the jump land
It's simple it gets the job done and more It's a ford build for tough almost 200000 and still start on 1 try 💪
