Positive Review
I've owned several half ton pickups, but the newer F150s are far and away the best all around. Sure, the Dodge has more power, the Chevy has better lines and Toyota is roomier inside, but at the end of the day the F150 is the quietest, torquiest, toughest and best laid out of all half ton pickups. You may not win any drag races in the F150, but if you put 7,000 pounds behind it you can safely and confidently pull that, whereas some of the other half tons get sketchy and scary at that weight. I have towed 7,000 pound trailers behind my truck numerous times, and with the use of a trailer brake controller can hardly tell it is there when it comes time to stop. If you want the nicest interior, quietest ride, best build quality and most capable truck look no further than the F150.
Critical Review
$900 spark plug job. Ford says "routine maintenance". Along with the other 39 problems I am done buying Ford after 20 years.

My 2008 F150 is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. After 17 years of work this truck has no leaks no rattles or any mechanical problems. It cost me virtually nothing to maintain even being serviced by Ford the entire time. Will never buy anything other than Ford again.

Best truck I ever had I have 436k miles and it’s still in mint condition motor still great !great truck
..F150 Ford Truck is in excellant shape...No dings or damage ...48000 original miles... Almost new tires(2000 miles)...Transmission is a 5 speed stick shift.
Body is in good shape…only minimal minor scratches. Interior is in perfect condition. Seldom traveled out of county.
Still hold up after 20 years
A few weak links—gas filler door spring, rear door latch mechanisms, etc.
I’ve had a 2004 F150 FX4 for the last 10 years. Now has 202k miles. It’s been a great truck. I am on my second engine…timing chain lack issues around 180k necessitated a rebuilt to be swapped in. That’s the only major repair I’ve done. Recently put in a new stereo with CarPlay, newly reupholstered front seats, and a few other odds and ends like headlight housings and such. Basically, I figure putting a few dollars into maintaining my old truck is far wiser than the cost of a new truck these days! I know I’ll get another 5+ years out of it and that makes me happy. Overall, Ford nailed it with this design. It rides nicely, doesn’t wear out tires like my old Dodge 2500, has plenty of power, is comfortable and reliable, and most of the important parts are still doing their job just fine after 20 years. This is why F150’s are the most common vehicle owned by millionaires and why they are claimed to be the longest lasting trucks on the road. I’ll buy it. I’m keeping mine a while longer!
Very Reliable, easy to maintain
They don’t make this exact truck anymore.
I bought this truck new in 2006 and have only done minor service of the vehicle. Still original Transmission, spark plugs, timing chain. It doesn’t use any oil and the gas mileage is still the same as when I purchased it 18 years ago. It’s been an amazing ride. My son now drives it, we drive it from NC to Colorado where he is stationed in the army. We didn’t think twice about it. Rode smooth and comfortable.
