bought the car about a month ago. Researched nearly every SUV (Pilot, QX60, Armada, Pathfinder, Highlander, Expedition, Navigator,...) Initially, I thought only of full size SUV. I test drove the Armada, liked it a lot but the 3rd row seating was VERY small. Given that I need the 3rd row seating, that was not an option. From the Mid size SUV. The Pathfinder and QX60, they looks nice, but they are under-powered and I did not like the CVT. Also the infotainment system is a bit outdated. The Pilot is very nice. Very sleek design but I did not like the infotainment, it is a bit less roomier than the Explorer but most importantly, I did not like the 9 SPD gear and the driving position was not comfortable to me (I am 6.2). As far as the explorer goes. Yes, it is a bit pricey compared to others but if you look around you can find good deals. The new SYNC3 is great compared to the older my ford touch and the Apple Car play is brilliant. With the twin turbo engine you never feel under power and when we took a road trip (5 adults and luggage) i did not feel any issues. Car also behaved very good on very wet, snowy and somewhat icy roads. Even if you compare this to a Tahoe, the 3rd raw and cargo space behind the 3rd row is way better in the Explorer. I did not rate the reliability since car is too new... but so far, no issues. As far as wish list. 1. Wish it had the full brake intervention capability for FWD and Backward collision, not just the alarms. 2. Wish it had 360 degree cameras (it has only Front and back) 3. I think that a 7 or 8 tranny would work great on this car. Take a look you will not regret. P.S. if you buy new and considering extended warranty, don't but directly from the dealer. Shop online, usually you will find much better deals.

Interior design awful, free leg space unbelievably horrible. Too many lumps in the floor, wheel well takes up leg room. Steering wheel very bulky and overwhelmed with stuff. Lack of useful storage compartments, hard to access usb and power ports. And THE ABSOLUTE WORST SEAT EVER PUT IN A CAR, I don't know what body type they modeled this seat for but it isn't anyone who's ridden in my car, everyone has hated it. I can't wait to get rid of this car ,biggest purchase mistake I ever made.

two transmission replacement in 1 year and 2 months warranty was only a year or 12000 miles, obviously they are not confidant in their transmission. It's such a horrible car

I purchased a 2014 Ford Explorer Limited with the four-cylinder engine in it and it has the panoramic sunroof very good on gas and I love it. Drive excellent seats are comfortable love the blind spots that are in the side mirrors. It’s gonna take me about to get used to everything where everything’s at And it’s push button start push button off, which is awesome if I could write it 10 stars, I would write it 10 stars, ⭐️
This vehicle is great! Has never disappointed with whatever we have needed to do. Love that the rear cargo area has separate A/C vents in the ceiling to keep our big dog (Pyrenees) comfortable on long distance travels. Heated seats are great in the winter. Gas mileage has been 22mpg. Easy to park and maneuver. Comfortable ride.

High labor repair costs.
I purchased my 2013 Explorer brand new. Overall, compared to the vehicles now, it was an almost reliable vehicle. The main issue with these cars is how they have things such as the water pump and others hidden that cause the labor charges to add up when that particular things fails.
My explorer is in great shape. It’s been an awesome vehicle. I did change a motor mount. I change the oil and rotate my tires regularly.
Only had this use vehicle only 8 months and now the radio doesn't work or back up camera i tried to get this repaired but quoted me. $1100
It’s been a great car, need to pay off Loans! I have kept oil changed and taken care of it! Would love to sell quickly.
