Positive Review
We have owned ours for 7 years and put 120,000 miles on it. It has 180,000 on it now. We have NEVER had a problem. NEVER left us stranded. Easy to maintain. My family has grown from 2 of us to 5 of us. We take cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents, and never seem to run out of room. I am a firefighter and seen several of these in head on collisions and rollovers. It has done a terrific job in the safety category for the occupants in those collisions. The seats are comfortable for the long trips and it is NOT so big that you can't park it. Room for the kids to spread out. Even though it has 4.6L V8, it has never lacked the get up and go power I have needed. My only complaint is that the suspensions design is rough on front tires and you have to rotate your tires if you want to get a decent tread life out of your tires. A great choice. Now that they are getting old enough that they aren't very expensive, any 1997-2002 Expedition would be a good choice for a family looking for safety and comfort without spending $40,000 for a new SUV.
Critical Review
For the price these cars are a steal. We have had our car for 8 + years. Had to replace a few spark plug seats which are about $800 a pop. Replaced the intake manifold (which is common when you pass 130k because they are plastic and will crack. Power is sluggish but acceptable. Comfort inside is great. We have 6 kids and they fit fine. Just can't put any other stuff in the car, Not much room in the back. Gas mileage is around 14 to 17 mpg. Power locks in the back doors stop working around the 120k mark.

I’m on my second Expedition. Not because of motor failure or anything like that. My husband was driving and I was in the passenger side and we got t-boned on my side. I came out unscathed. We liked the car so much that we looked for another one. This time a used one. It had low miles, which was a plus. The first one was brand new, and we used it for camping, and eventually pull day utility trailer with all our stuff in it. Now that my husband has passed, though, I’m thinking of selling it, and getting a more gas, efficient roundabout car. I feel sad because of this.
Big, 4 wheel drive option
no adaptive cruise
Found it at Seth Wadley in Paul's Valley OK, great service, good price.
Dislike getting bombarded with ads, blah, blah, blah I just wanted a simple value. now you want a minimum of 100 characters in this message before I can submit it.
Everything
Gas mileage
I have over 200,000 miles on it. Replaced radiator hose years ago. Son is a fireman and had to use it years ago for the 4-Wheel drive in the snow. I have 2 other cars and I use this one every day. Changed oil every 10 to 15,000 miles. Took out the rear seating and added a weather tech so I could haul materials, groceries.
Comfortable mileage great dependable
Depreciation value.
Had for 23 years. 260,000 miles. Still running great. 5.6 engine 18mpg. Only major work was alternator replaced. 1 spark plug changed due for one. Trips to Calif, Texas, Mexico, Colo, Nevada. So comfortable used for travel. And gas mileage is great. Still original engine and trans.

Someone tried to steal it. It starts but hesitates when in gear do to anti theft system just need the code
Car has been garage parked all the times. In the last 5 years it has been driven less than 1000 miles per year. Engine is great and it runs very good. Has new breaks and good tires.
