Positive Review
Before signing the check for my new Escape SE, I researched and drove every competitive vehicle. The Escape won me over due to it's design, forward thinking, utility, comfort, mileage and overall driving characteristics. Coming from a premium brand AWD vehicle, I was at first skeptical, but I've come to really appreciate and love this vehicle. It drives and handles extremely well, and feels well-planted on the road. The seating is extremely comfortable, although the footwell is a bit tight, it's not too tight for my 6'0", 185 pound frame. The engine is extremely quiet - something I didn't expect from a small turbo, and the automatic transmission is very smooth. Fit and finish are on par with more expensive vehicles, which I believe is the reason it costs slightly more than others in it's class. I also love the Sync with MyFordTouch, and don't understand why some complain about it. It's intuitive, and easy to learn to operate. So far, I haven't been getting the EPA's rated fuel mileage, but it's probably due to my driving style and frequent stop and go traffic. The best I've done yet is 29 mpg when driven mostly highway miles. As with all vehicles, I expect the mileage to improve once broken in. I also love the auto-tailgate option, though I don't have the "foot motion" option, which I don't feel is necessary. All said, I love this vehicle.
Critical Review
Bought a pre-owned lemon.. This is absolutely a junker. Call this vehicle titanium headache. The clutches are not engaging in the transmission correctly. They did the service fluid flush hoping it will help resolve the problem. It didn't work!! Apparently I need a new transmission installed. Never ever again would I buy a ford escape. Terrible experience, and all these fake reviews posted here on kbb. These vehicles are not made to last a long time.

Complete Lemon, Resale value
People say all kinds of lies on here. Good vehicle, Bad vehicle, Etc.. First of all, let me tell you my experience dealing with this vehicle. It Sucks!!! It needs a engine replacement being a little over 110k miles. Oil dilution is the biggest concern is what they showed me. Plus the transmission fluid is leaking. The transfer case is leaking, etc. Well, the best thing I just did was trade in the vehicle. Never again would I buy ford escape 2016-2019 All of them have major issues.
We have owned Fords for fifty years (a truck, an Edge, two Escapes, a Taurus, and an Explorer) but will NEVER buy any Ford again. Their quality has declined. Our 2018 Ford Escape (well-maintained) had to have a new engine block after the engine came on and stayed on. We had 84,000 miles, but that is not enough to warrant a new engine. There is a design flaw in which coolant leaked into the engine itself. Ford knew about this problem and had a replacement offer that expired in 2022. The cost of the engine was $11,000; Ford paid $4000 and we paid the rest. Contacting Ford did not help. We have learned that there are many people who have had this issue, based on our online search, and there have been class action lawsuits. We will be looking at other cars when the time comes to replace this car. And, by the way, the paint around the windshield is flaking off, another issue that we found has been experienced by many Ford owners with blue cars or trucks. Guess 2018 was a bad year, depending on which plant manufactured the car or truck. Bottom line: Ford just does not care. They no longer have quality vehicles they stand behind.
Absolutely Not
Reliability Value Performance Quality
Read those fake five star reviews, same thing said over, over again!!! These vehicles are not like a honda, or even a toyota. Those are good vehicles made to last. These ford escape suvs are terrible. Cheap vehicle, transmission replacement already at 90k mileage. This vehicle doesn't hold it's value compared to putting money into it.

Poorly made vehicle's, reliability
Not reliable enough to keep around. Costing repair service is getting exspensive. Fuel mileage is not very good. Sluggish for small towing load. The seats are to small, back seat is cheaply made.
They are all lemons, Not made to last
It's a gamble vehicle, either good or a exspensive repair headache. First of all, always check your kbb trade in value before buying a vehicle!!! See what you are up against!!! Trade in value should never be half the value of a vehicle!!! These ford escape suv have a bad resale value. Transmission Replacement, Oil dilution etc.
Not worth it, vehicle is pathetic
Looking at one of these vehicles for my daughter we went on a test drive. What a bad experience it was. Transmission is the problem, slipping on second to third gear. Engine had some kind of ticking noise plus it smelled like oil burning. ((We walked away)) There's better and more reliable used vehicles out there. Stay away from ford escape!!
No
Reliability Concerns
Costing to much time and money for continuous repairs. These vehicles are not cheap for service repairs. They are a older vehicle that has a history of problems like the transmission, oil dilution etc. Lucky for me, I traded mine in before those kinda problems could start.
Nothing
Over priced lemons
Pile of junkyard vehicle's awaiting to be sent there. Over priced lemons that these crooked lot's are asking for. These vehicles use to be cheaper pre-owned awhile back ago. Stop price gauging!! The resale value is much lower than you think.
