Positive Review
The Energi; What a fun car to drive; great commuting car as well as trips. I haven't driven it aggressively yet, but for normal commuting am getting 47mpg at 62mph and 45mpg at 65 mph, and I have a challenging, hilly commute. I do think the gas mileage will go down to, gasp, the 30s with hard driving. It really shines in rush hour traffic. It's very quiet; great visibility. I really like the sync system. However, I loved the idrive in my beemers. I am puzzled by the complaints about the gas mileage. I got over 51mpg the other day in a somewhat flat stretch of freeway in 30 minutes of driving. I really really wanted to like the volt, but I found the low ceiling and rather cramped interior too depressing, and found it boring to drive.
Critical Review
This car is not at all what it is advertised to be. The Energi is not worth the money you pay for it. it is advertised to drive 20 miles on electric and after 6 weeks we can only drive 10 miles --- not worth the extra paid to get and energy -- the battery takes up a lot of space in the back of the car and is heavy so the mileage is only about 32-33 when driving with gas only. We do not like the car and we really want something different. My local ford dealer has not delivered the service information we would expect regarding this car so I had to notify the Ford Corporate company to help with the issues we have with the car. If you want to buy an electric car == DON'T BUY THIS CAR

80MPG is not unusual. Spacious interior which is very quiet. Engine very responsive with either gas or electric.
Small trunk space as battery takes up space. Not good turning radius as front wheel drive needs space to navigate.
2014 Ford C Max Energi is the Best Car we've owned as a couple. It has surprising interior space; seats 4 very comfortably and 5 is OK for shorter duration. The PHEV aspect has made me a believer in Plug - in Hybrid technology. The C Max Energi has 2 sources of power; gas engine with plenty of power and the battery operated power which is crazy powerful. The two power modes interface 100% smooth / seemless. Depending on my driving the engine will switch to electric mode or use gas as needed. The 14 gallon gas tank with typical driving is good for about 600 miles of range. The reality is that same gas tank winds up going just short of 1000 miles as electric power kicks in. Most of our driving is city; about 30 miles a day. We often achieve 80 MPG. I use a Level 1 power connection; simple plug-in the garage wall overnight. The local power company gives me a major discount for the used electricity if I power up overnight (off - peak usage). The car has a very well designed interior. Seats are upscale leather. The interior noise is minimal even as freeway speed. We absolutely love our 2014 Ford C Max Energi.
Comfortable, standard features
Looks like a Prius. Sound system
Reliable. funnier the drive than most cars in its class. Comes with a lot of features for the price. Owned it 6 years now and couldn't be happier.
Fun to drive
Easy to see out the windows. Like maintenence . Good pick up. Fun to drive good gas mileage. Good speakers.
MPG ,lack of ANY problems, very comfortable
Not sports car acceleration ,but more than adequa.
A very spacious & comfortable car. In 2015 ,I was impressed with all the technology & comfort . I am 6’3” & over 65. My average over 111k miles is 60 mpg with extended trips.
Low cost of Ownership - Comfortable Vehicle
Dark side privacy windows with opt. moon roof
The C Max Energi Titanium is quite an interesting vehicle. When I initially purchased the car, I was not certain what to expect. After several years of ownership, I have been quite impressed with the C Max. Average mileage achieved is typically between 43-45 MPG. Other than oil and filter changes, I have required not any additional service. The C Max is comfortable on both local and long distance trips for a family of four. The luggage cargo area is a bit tight due to the battery requirements, but, I was aware of that issue before the purchase of the car. My only complaint is apparently when ordering the glass moon roof option, the car is shipped with darkened privacy side glass. This glass while great during the hot summer weather, can result is visibility issues when driving at night.
Nice stereo radio and efficiency.
No spare tire.
Excellent with mpg and electric combination never before in my cars. Beautiful, roomy, quiet, and performer. My black beauty. Ex worth the money, A lot of technology all around, confortable, elegant. Very informative dash. Well designed.
Love using Electric to Gas When I want. B-)
display is much smaller then I prefer.
This car is Amazing, I LOVE IT!!! I had one in 2015, and could not wait to get it again. My husband was became very ill in 2019, and I had to get a much larger vehicle to transport him and wheel chair. And portable Stair Climber. Unfortunately he passed away at the End of 2019. I got rid of that oversized, HONDA CRV, and was soooooooooooooo fortunate to find a C-Max for sale. It is a 2017 with less than 20K millage, I LOVE it again!!! Since now, Life is just me and my Barkley (Dog). We are very happy every night I plug in before Bed, and wake up with 20+ miles of electricity, I go to/from work and then maybe bite to eat, and usually have < 10 miles still left, then plug in and Happy to have 20+ in the AM again. I hardly ever get gas. And when I do it lasts a very long time....
