What Owners are Saying About the 1997 Ford Aspire

"tough little car"

"My Aspire is the toughest car Ive ever had. I bought it 5 years ago for $225. It had 113,000 miles on it. It now has 239,000 miles on it and it still runs fine. Ive had to do some work on it such as new axles, fuel pump, struts, rotors and the regular maintanance stuff like brakes, plugs, wires etc. Its well on its way to 300,000 miles. One negative thing about it is that Ive always had a small electrical problem with the headlights. They'll go dim on me every so often. Other than that Ive definitly got my moneys worth out of this car and plan on keeping it till it dies."

"I love my Lil' pinky car!"

"My stick shift aspire makes people jealous when I tell them I fill my tank up from empty and it costs $25-27. I get about 38-40 MPG between putzing around town and on the thruway. Imagine how cheap my gas cost would be if gas was back around $1.50 a gallon! She's a cheap keep. I learned how to drive manual on this car and it has been very forgiving to someone like me who has struggled with stick shifts in the past. My car's no beauty queen by any stretch (can't lose her in a parking lot with her being colored magenta). I was pleasantly surprised that I can fit quite a bit in the back seat. (I'm a massage therapist and I was concerned about being able to fit my portable massage table in the back seat.) Leg room is sadly lacking in the back seat but rarely does anyone sit back there anyway. She's pretty bare bones when it comes to features, crank windows, no power mirrors (which stinks), no cruise control. (yes it is possible to get a stick shift car with cruise my parents have one) It may be a small car but my fiance is 6'2" and not only does he fit comfortably but he loves to drive it. My car has it's quirks but nothing I can't handle. Even at 171,000 miles I would NOT give up that car even if you gave me a brand new SUV!"

"FIrst vehicle Ive ever owned and it was good to me"

"This car was the first car I drove and very fun because it was so small. It was easy to park anywhere I went and its a five seater so there was space in case I needed to drive anyone else. Realistically, however, this car is probably made at most for two people, it becomes inconvenient to drive when you have kids. THe good: its very cheap to maintain and very good on gas, 30 + MPG. Its awesome!"
