Positive Review
This is a review based on an extended test drive of the 500x Lounge. The car is fun to drive. A lot of the things that bothered me about the 500L are addressed here. The car feels much nicer than the price tag. It is comfortable and handles s-curve hilly roads with FUN and you feel very safe going around corners. You can feel the pick up through a hill and the nice balance over when reaching the top. This was not expected due to the engineer size, but the sport mood really does give it a boost.
Critical Review
My fiat 500x has had issues since the 2nd year, and Fiat couldn't/wouldn't fix it even while under warranty. It is nearly undriveable. I have never had so many issues with a car, and such bad service from a car maker. Stay away.

We bought our 500X on January 31st, 2017 when we were snowbirds. We left it in our garage there and only put about 4,000 miles a year on it until moving to Arizona permanently. We've had it now a full 8 years and have about 37,000 miles on it. It is still a joy to drive and is simple to park, even in tight spaces. It's a perfect car for running chores around town, but we've driven it to California and Nevada too. It's great on highways and has more than enough power for longer trips. I've only done routine maintenance over the 8 years of ownership and am on battery #3, which is mainly due to the high heat of Arizona. To sum it up, it's been a great car and I'm sorry Fiat has discontinued its production.
Solid stereo / speaker system
Constant repairs very uncomfortable interior
This is a very cute car, I have had this car for one year and I have had to replace all four tire pressure sensors on each wheel and now have to replace another. There are two recalls for this vehicle. 1. Is a recall for the catalytic converter which gives you terrible gas mileage and will start to cause your engine to fail the longer you drive without repairing. The waiting list to get that fixed is 6 months or longer. 2. It has an issue of burning oil and will cause your car to stall in the middle of traffic which has happened to me several times.I only use official Mopar parts from the dealer to repair and they constantly break and have to be re-replaced. And the alternator went bad after two months.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I purchased this vehicle 6 years ago, but it has been great. I’ve only had to take it into the shop for regular maintenance in that amount of time. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something dependable that won’t break the bank.
I bought my 500 X new and 11 it. Five years later, I still don’t see another car on the road that I would rather drive. My gas mileage is good, it is the perfect size and I don’t see a ton of others, so I feel special. It’s fast and sporty and perfect!
Good ride
Hatchback area is small plus other areas, no GPS
The hatchback area is small It has a smooth ride. The Ford dealership where it was purchased should have set things up on screen but I had to do most of it. Priced way too high. Am wanting to sell it. Have had almost 3 months
Great riding car. I would purchase again. Comfortable on road driving with plenty of pep. We have had other Fiats in the family and this one goes down as the most fun on 4 wheels.
Fun and roomy
Setting the dashboard features is a bit confusing.
It’s peppy, comfortable and gets great mileage. I will buy an EV version when one is available. Just a perfect car for me and my family.

Gas guzzler and dangerous electrical problems
I purchased my 2016 Fiat 500X in 2019 with only 4000miles on it. I thought I was the luckiest person in the world. I purchased a vehicle with everything I wanted. Leather seats -check. Side mirror- notification of on coming vehicles -check. Rearview camera assist -check. Sun roof- check. Navigation, Call assist, plus many other extras. Great car, right? WRONG!!! I found out very quickly what a gas guzzler I purchased. I have to fill up more often then a person breaths per day. Then the real problems started. Then light indicator for all of my lights (day, signal, bright, front, rear, park and interior lights) started cycling through saying that they were out. At times they would be out and I'd change the bulb, just for them to go again and again and again. I figured it was an electrical problem so I took it into a Fiat dealership. They confirmed my suspicions and said, eventually it will affect your brakes and ability to drive. I see this as a manufacturers problem and it should be recalled. I asked if there was a recall on the electrical box or whatever the formal name of the problem is. They said no, and sent me on my way. They said the part to fix it hasn't been in and won't come in because it comes from China and China isn't sending parts at this time. Between the $150 per week that I put in this gas guzzler and this whole electrical issue - this car is TRASH. I'd rather have a basic car with NO frills - ABSOLUTELY NO FRILLS - then this money guzzling vehicle. This car is a trap...don't fall for it's attractive looks. Does LEMON mean anything to anyone? If so, you know what to do...
