Positive Review
Reluctantly bought it new in 2000. Loved it after that. Ran great. Looked great. My issue was gas mileage. Remember in early 2000's, gas was "less expensive" So it hurts a lot more now to fill it up. 18 gal. tank at $4.00/gal. Drove like a car. Have replaced tires, alternator, and fuel pump. Also changed some front suspension parts, but overall this baby was a good vehicle. Very dependable.
Critical Review
This was a complete waste of my time I just wanted to know what the value of this vehicle was on Kelley blue book and I spent 15 minutes typing stuff for it to tell me that I need to take it to a dealer for a cash value and I did not ask for that I asked for a rough value of this vehicle. I will never use this website again as long as I live!!!!

I purchased a 1997 dodge ram v8 magnum from a dealership for $3000 in 2021. I had a mechanic @ auto repair shop replace engine with a rebuilt v8 magnum for $5000 that included all new wiring, hoses, radiator, flushed and adjusted automatic transmission. The truck had no damage in interior and previous owner before trade in put on 4 new tires. The original miles had 120,000 miles. So basically I bought a new truck for $8000. I own my pick up for my lifetime. My suggestion look for a deal take to a local mechanic shop put in new engine and you'll have a new truck.
im a 16 year old and my step father got me this truck and ive had it for abt 2 months now and its perfect,i get great mileage and i can use it to haull cattle its perfect
reliability, ride, overall quality
poor quality dash and paint
I bought my truck new in Houston. It was a daily driver for 18 years until I retired. Since then it has become my farm truck. It has been a very reliable vehicle and for the money well worth it. It has been super economical to operate. Other than normal things like brakes, tires and regular maintenance it has only received a clutch/pressure plate, water pump, one set of U-joints and Dodge replaced a defective ring & pinion under warranty at about 6 months. It still has the complete original exhaust system! It is a regular cab, short bed, 5.2 ltr/318 cid with a 5 speed manual transmission, air, power steering, brakes, windows and door locks, cruise control and radio. Nothing elaborate but just a good solid and dependable truck. It handles wonderfully and has always given a smooth and comfortable ride. I have only two complaints with my truck. One is the lousy plastic dash that has gradually disintegrated into nothing and the fact that Dodge has no idea how to paint vehicles. I've had 3 NEW Dodges and every one within one year of purchase has had the paint wear off every surface.
Bulletproof, comfortable, powerful.
Hard to find one in good shape
Beast of a truck, always starts up no matter what, 1st gear on the 5spd manual is super low great for towing and rock crawling. These trucks last forever i 100% recommend this truck to anyone, it will eat the durmax chevys alive. Not to mention ford’s squeaky chassis and “power stroke” engine lol.
Bought truck used with 236,000 everything worked and still works as it should , only disappointment is the dash (cracked severely)! Very reliable, and hard working its just an awesome fun truck to drive!
Had one for a long time with a cummins 5 speed, best truck I ever owned..............................

I owned my ram for 20 years and can’t complain. Drove it to New York and many other places.
