Positive Review
Got it used with 49,000 miles in 2008 for $10,000. A year after, I began having problems with it not starting or starting and immediately turning off. Took it to the dealer I got it from, withich was kind enough to mess with it after their warranty expired, and they couldn't figure it out. I told them it sounded like a fuel pump and they replaced it. After that didn't fix it, I took it back when it wouldn't start the next day either. Usually, it would work fine when I got it there. They replaced the PCM under Chrysler warranty because it was less than 5 years old. That seemed to fix it for a few months. Then it did the same thing and I looked it up online. Found out that this is the Idle Air Control motor. You can replace it for $300 or clean it with electrical cleaner. I cleaned it and it worked fine for 6 months. Cleaned it again and it lasted for a couple years. It did the same thing at 6 years old and cleaned it again and its worked since. Took it to a shop for an alignment and was told it needed a head gasket because it was leaking oil from the back of the block. Turned out to be the oil sensor. Fixed that myself. Timing belt broke at about 120,000 miles. My fault, it was supposed to be replaced at 100000. I got lucky and it didn't bend any valves. Replaced the head gasket, water pump and tensioner while I was in there. I've replaced 2 timing belts since on Neons at roughly the same mileage so i'd recommend the 100,000 mile interval. Suspension parts wear like crazy. I'm a delivery driver and put a lot of miles on it, roughly 20,000 per year. I've done control arms at least 4 times, because of bushings or ball joints. Replaced struts at about 5 years old and it needs new ones in the back again. The part store I go to started enforcing their policy of one exchange for the lifetime warranty because of me. Wheel bearings on the front at least 5 times. Back bearings once. Catalytic converter was replaced. Bracket broke off the muffler and I replaced the whole thing with a Magnaflow. It does have 200,000 miles on it now and it still drives nice, has plenty of power and handles amazingly in the snow. I use good tires. Its a manual transmission. And I use full synthetic oil in it and I change the oil 2 to 3 times per year. I recommend it if you can do the repairs yourself because to take it to a shop for all of the repairs would have cost well over the value of the car. Front wheel bearings are $300 each.
Critical Review
Thru 100,000mi-200,000mi the transmission went two times, pwr steering, hoses, sensors for; windshield wipers, ceiling light, ignition sensor, etc. As well, the radiator, all motor mounts, axels have gone bad. I paid $3,500 7.5 yrs ago.

I bought this car brand-new back in 2003 I have had it for 21 years I have never had any major issues with it and I have kept the repairs and everything on it and it has lasted me 21 years I’m so grateful but now it is getting older as I am and I just wanted to know whether there are you a Videos in a steel is Wurth there are you because I have well-kept it there are a few places on the back side on the passenger side where are because of moisture there is a little tiny rust but other than that it is a great car I’ve driven it for 21 years and I’ve had my license for over 50 years I would highly recommend a – neon if you just wanna use car this is a good one or you can buy a brand new one.
