Positive Review
Bought it used, with one previous owner, in April 2012 with around 210K miles, now has 251K. I was worried about the high mileage, but I bought it anyway for a good price. I don't regret getting the Caravan. It was the base trim, 3.0L V6 4-speed automatic. Not really any major issues, other than the parking brake cable got stuck and had to be removed around 235K miles. Other than the normal maintenance and up-keep, it's been very dependable and sturdy without fail. Just keeps going!
Critical Review
Bought this vehicle new in 1998, was excited at spaciousness and the engine power; we lived in Europe at the time, and it was great for family ski vacations. I've only put 84,000 miles on it (!!!) - but read on. But here is the HUGE disappointment: terrible quality of Chrysler product and "craftmanship." Examples: - at just 22,000 miles, the head gasket failed; Chrysler Corp's reimbursement under warranty was only half the cost of the actual repair in a European Chrysler-Jeep dealer; - repeated (3x) deterioration/wear-out of brakes requiring replacement, including in the first 18 months (at less than 12K miles); - transmission failure at 50K miles is a regular problem with Chrysler/Dodge fans; mine occurred at 48K miles, when it decided not to shift above second gear. That cost nearly $800 to fix; - the gas filter is awkwardly located UNDER the chassis by the gas tank; when I had it replaced (at around 50K by a mechanic), I had two breakdowns on a major cross-country trip: the gas lines clip onto the filter, on either side, and the clips came loose while driving Route 80; was fortunate it was only a 3 hour mechanic repair job instead of physical harm to my family and me; - repeated exhaust system-related problems that triggered the Check Engine light repeatedly. Had the exhaust sensors replaced a couple of times; ultimately it needed a new catalytic converter; - endemic rust problem around the rear wheel well. Take a look at a Caravan or Voyager from this period, if you can still find one running, and you will notice a cancerous rust pervading the area above the wheel well. In my case, it's the right side, but the fact is, the poor Chrysler design traps water from draining and results in body rust that can't be defeated (I checked with a good body shop, and they just shook their heads). And I garaged this vehicle most of its life. -- Add to that other corrective maintenance problems: the electric cooling fan and thermostat (about $800); failed wheel bearing on another cross country trip (at about the 79K mile mark); and now, the killer that will make me scrap this vehicle: another failed head gasket (coolant was boiling in the reservoir, mechanic just called me with the bad news). All this adds up to miserable, unreliable performance on a vehicle that I maintained meticulously and never mishandled (no red-lining, towing, overloading, etc.) A deep disappointment, and a disgraceful testimony to Chrysler as a manufacturer. Would NEVER buy a Chrysler product again -- and caution everyone against buying one.

Mini van is old but in perfect shape. I bought this van new and it has always been garaged up until the last couple of years. Everything works and non smoker. Needs a nice family to enjoy it like we did. It has 150,000 miles, Michelin tires .
Low operating cost
Leaks oil
No longer have it but bought new and put 150k trouble free miles on it in 25 yrs. The best vehicle I've ever owned. I am an easy driver, but had mine overloaded with tools, working as a handyman. It had the trailer towing package, but I still had to add air shocks to prop the rear up with the tool weight. Even with all that, never a major repair. I did service the tranny every 30k. Comparison wise my 2002 Tundra has been a disaster.
Is very dependable
Injector Wire harness
Bought the Van new in 98. Had to put two transmissions in the van And one engine at 482000. Van still runs great looks greand still drive back to indiana all the time
Smooth ride, lots of room, off two back seats
None
Great van smooth ride plenty of room when taking one of the back seats out for extra room. I haven’t had any mechanical problems at 158k I got the van for photography trips and travel. Only thing I can think off is that a little higher off the ground would have been nice but no big deal can do without.
Your website stinks. I was trying to see the value of my vehicle for private party sales,
Comfortable and roomy
my guys want me to get a newer model vehicle
My baby, I love the van... ,,..................... .............................. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Easy to work on and inexpensive parts
Seats break easily
I bought this non running van from a nonpayment tenant and traded the van for non paid rent. That was ten years ago. She had some mechanical problems at first. It had 180k in miles and purchased it for $600 dollars. It's 2021 I have put and additional 100k of miles on it and it's still going strong. It's goes to the dealership from time to time for rotation of the tires and her scheduled synthetic oil changes. The car has seem its better days. First dodge I ever had I am impressed wit this 3.3 motor. Parts are very expensive and easy to locate. I must have 5k duralast lifetime parts from auto zone. This vehicle will out life me. The Caravan is totally worth it!
