Positive Review
I bought the 2001 Grand Caravan Sport with 3.3 liter flex fuel as a used vehicle in 02'. It had at the time 31,000 miles and was a retired rental vehicle sold at my local Dodge dealership. It has been and continues to be a suprisingly reliable vehicle. It always starts and has some pep in the engine still. Now the cons. 1) Transmission acted up out of nowhere at 95,000 miles; would not shift out of 2nd in "D". After troubleshooting by pulling the trouble codes off the odometer, it revealed the transmission computer was bad. That part is located in the driver's front wheel well ,behind the splash shield. The dealer said I would have to have that part programmed; never did and it shifts fine. At 128,000 miles, the engine misfired badly AFTER a tuneup ;plugs wires. The coil went bad and was not firing all six cylinders. Replaced the coil at a cost of $87.00 and all was well. A/C compressor locked up and made a horrendous sound, replaced that part at a cost of $140. Alternator died at 150,000 miles and bought a reman' at Advance Auto for $120. Driver's window will not roll down and testing revealed that is a bad motor. Now the Pros. 1) The transmission has held up well and still shifts well for the miles and age. I have never had it rebuilt ,just the trans. computer replaced. HOWEVER, most Chrysler owners may not be aware that these transmissions take ATF+4 transmission fluid; not Dexron IV or Mercon. Make sure you let your mechanic know ! It's available at most parts stores or at the local Dodge/Chrysler Jeep dealer. I've replaced the engine oil and filter every 3000 miles and the trans fluid and filter every 30,000 miles with of course ATF+4. I don't know it all, but I hope this review helps fellow Caravan owners on what to look out for and not getting ripped off for a new transmission when it just may be a simple $200 computer ! Overall, still runs great, no headgasket problems or overheating, shifts well and took it to So.Cal. from Texas and back without a problem. Still averages 17 MPG around town and 25 MPG on the highway !
Critical Review
My vehicle has been to the mechanic too many times to count. I have owned this vehicle since 4/2004. I have put sooo much money into this vehicle! The only thing keeping me from buying a new vehicle is lack of money (SAHM). When your mechanic knows you by name just by the sound of your voice when you call to make an appointment that is not a good sign.

good reliable vehicle
interior cheap
2003 Dodge sport caravan was the best longest running vehicle I've ever had , the only issue we've had was the interior, power windows, back hatch, and ceiling cloth cover sagging other than that my van still running
bought this with 59000 miles on it from dealership. It looked and ran good. Has it for 6 years. It gas 81000 miles on it. It had been towed 3 times because the lines on the rack and pinon leak. now the headliner is falling. I had to pin it up to keep it out of my face. it got a clunk in the front. the valve cover leaks. The power steering pump leaks. The power sliding door stopped working. The check engine light is on. Only 1 speaker in the radio works. The lifts on tailgate need replaced. Alot of money to spend on vehicle with low mileage. And both rear wing motors do not operate. They need to be replaced. I will be junking the vehicle.
This van runs really good and they last a long time I currently drive a 2007 dodge caravan and I absolutely love it it's very comfortable good on gas and there's a good bit of room
Stow and Go seating, multi disk CD player and DVD
The Navigation system broke but only after 12 yrs
This van has been a Godsend for more than 18 years and still runs fantastically. The struts were replaced a few years ago. It has low mileage for its year. The velour seats are so comfortable and I have loved the Stow and Go seats! It rides beautifully. I wanted to buy a new Grand Caravan last year but Dodge no longer makes them. I bought a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica which is currently the only mini van still available with Stow and Go seats. I love this one too, and all of it's bells and whistles.
This van it’s modified to be used for disability person it’s modified for a easy use with the wheelchair. Everything is with controls to be more easy to get in and out of the car.
GREAT FOR TRAVEL.
CAN'T THINK OF ANY!
I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE "STAR" RATINGS ABOVE, BUT THEY ARE ALL EXCELLENT EXCEPT STYLING, WHICH IS GOOD. THE MOST INEXPENSE TO MAINTAIN AND DEPENDABLE CAR WE HAVE EVER OWNED. CAN'T RECOMMEND IT ENOUGH, AND DO NOT INTEND TO SELL IT!
