Positive Review
This is a 1999 extended cab, two wheel drive, 860,000 miles and has been a great pickup for me. I used it for both hauling and personal transportation long distance and short in town. Hauls med loads, box size is big enough for everything I haul, 8ft motor cycle (with tail gate down), 4x8 sheets of plywood. The ride is good and comfortable interior. Drawbacks; I have the 3.9 motor which is good for most things but lacks power for pulling med and larger trailers through the hills in the Black Hills. The paint started to fade at about 10 years old. No rust until about 12 years old, and once it started it went fast to all areas. Which is sad that the bode is falling apart but runs great. Gas mileage is fair 15 most of the time but as good as 21.
Critical Review
I bought this truck brand new it was rigorously maintained oil changes every 3000 miles your standard services etc I had to replace the first transmission @ 40000 miles and the second at 80,000 miles all done by the dealership have put in two starters and a alternator my instrument cluster works when it wants to and the dealership can't find the problem and recently it has developed a bad idling problem and half the time won't even start sometimes when I go it will stutter and not even want to move and misfire I have replaced the idle air control valve throttle position sensor air filter spark plugs wires and coil pack as well as the crankshaft position sensor and the fuel pump all which the dealership thought would resolve my problems so far nothing has worked I wouldn't recommend this truck to anybody in the world

I bought this used Dodge Dakota truck in 2010 with 34k miles on it. Today it has 56k and it runs beautifully. I regularly maintain it. No dings and in perfect condition. I am wondering how much I can sell it for should I want to do that. Any ideas?
barely got this vehicle it haves over 216k miles and it runs pretty good, runs good in winter, first problem i had was the heat sensor but it’s no big deal if you know what your doing, other then that i love this car, once i save enough money im getting my hands on a 2011 dakota!

Nothing
I owned my 2000 Dodge Dakota SLT for 22 years and put over 100,000 miles on it. The truck was bulletproof. Never had any major problems. I just traded it in for 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT with 81k. These trucks are awesome.
Reliable, parts are plentiful and easy to replace,
No frills, gas is much more expensive now
I've had this truck for twenty years. It is reliable. I've seen Toyotas needing something fixed or replaced six and eight times more often than this Dakota. Of course, it has fewer things that can go wrong like power windows, etc. Still, this truck is extremely reliable. And the resale value is just a little less than what I paid for it.
Bought with about 76,000 miles. 17 years ago. I have replaced the water pump, radiator, ECM, drive belt and tensioner. Replaced cap and rotor/spark plugs/wires. Complete brake job. Front and back. Tires. Replaced interior ceiling fabric. Thats is all. The engine is strong and dependable. 3.9V6. Never late on oil changes. It now has 140k. Still going strong.
it has a oil leak in the front of differential and a humming noise assuming a bad seal and bearing at the yoke and the headliner is comming loose at the windshield area all across tires are good and have repalced water pump and thermose stat and replace automatic front window regulaters
Can handle a smooth backroad like a sports car
Lowerd and rough with sleep bumps and potholes
Been driving it everyday for almost 2 years in February and it's never let me down, it's sounds great.
