KBB Review Highlights
From the British brand best known for delightfully thrilling sports cars and sleek sedans, the 2021 F-Pace builds on the successes of the previous generation. A recent nominee for the Kelley Blue Book Best Small Luxury SUV, the 2021 F-Pace combines speed, distinctive design, utility, and practicality. Ideal for the driver who needs the space and versatility of an SUV but craves the power and performance of a well-balanced race car, the F-Pace makes a stand for having it all.
It occupies a solid space in a growing class with more established competitors like the Audi Q5, Cadillac XT4, and Mercedes-Benz GLB. The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace pulls away from the pack with standard all-wheel drive (AWD), a high-performance variant, improved aerodynamic design, and advanced technology inside and out. Performance-minded, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace arrives in five configurations: the 250, S 250, S 340, and, new for 2021, R Dynamic S 400 and the hot-rod SVR.
Most trims get power from a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder or an inline-6 amped up by an electric supercharger with a twin-scroll single turbocharger plus a 48-volt lithium-ion battery belt-powered booster generator. A turbo 2.0-liter engine powers trims below the S 340, while trims above use the supercharged and turbocharged inline-6s. The horsepower associated with each trim is near the line name. For example, the S 340 gets 335, the R Dynamic 400 395, and so forth until you arrive at the SVR. Of note is the SVR’s exquisite 550 horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that delivers 516 lb-ft of torque. The SVR excels at what Jaguar does best — providing a synergy of elegantly funneled power and controlled speed in a premium, classically styled vehicle.
The F-Pace’s design reboot is fresh yet familiar. The exterior is handsome and modern while remaining distinctively Jaguar. It features a broader, more muscular body, enlarged diamond-etched grille, trim-specific exterior enhancements, and slim LED lighting in the front and rear. Polished and clean, the refreshed exterior echoes the refinements of the interior’s upgrade.
For the 2021 model year, the Jaguar F-Pace will remain a 5-seater. Despite its petite size, the F-Pace has excellent space for humans and gear, with 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and a generous 63.5 cubic feet when you fold the seat flat. Active Noise Cancellation and elevated materials add to the interior’s calm, aeronautically inspired cabin. Textiles and accents are installed with a restrained hand and speak the British love of simple design done well and in high-quality materials. Jaguar wove comfort and convenience into the fiber of the F-Pace with an available 12-speaker Meridan system, optional wireless charging pads for the front and rear, and improved seating with badged with delicate embossing and an optional massage function with better, more expansive heating/cooling functionality.
The front of the cabin is driver-centric and anchored by the new Pivi Pro infotainment system. The new 11.4-inch touchscreen uses curved glass that angles toward the driver and is within arm’s reach. Anti-glare and fingerprint-resistant, the system allows easy access to all necessary functions and is highly customizable. The 12.3-inch digital instrument panel allows for 3D mapping. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard across the trim lines. Several notable options are available on the 2021 F-Pace, including Cabin Ionization and a wearable activity key.
