It’s not uncommon for rival automakers to team up to share engineering, technology, or manufacturing capacity. Such is the case with the Honda Prologue and Chevrolet Blazer EV, the former of the two electric SUVs jointly developed by Honda and General Motors. Riding on the same architecture and built in the same factory, these SUVs are alike in many ways but more different than you might expect for being so similar under the skin.
Now that we know the significant similarities let’s zoom in on the differences between the Honda Prologue and Chevy Blazer EV to figure out the right one for you.
2024 Honda Prologue
The Honda Prologue is Honda’s first all-electric SUV. After a couple of half-hearted attempts at marketing EVs in North America, like the all-electric versions of the Clarity and the Fit, the Prologue is Honda’s attempt at making electric vehicles a little more mainstream. Pricing starts at $48,795.
Honda Prologue Highlights
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay: Although many drivers consider these smartphone connectivity features essential, they are unavailable in the Blazer EV. However, their compatibility comes standard in the Honda Prologue, making it easy to mirror your smartphone’s maps, music, and more to the car’s screen.
Subtle interior: While the Blazer EV’s interior design is a bit more adventurous, the Honda Prologue’s interior has a subtlety that we appreciate. It’s a nice place to be, with a clean design, comfortable seats, and ergonomically friendly controls.
Front-wheel drive: The single-motor version of the Honda Prologue is front-wheel drive (FWD), while the single-motor Blazer EV is rear-wheel drive (RWD). All-wheel drive (AWD) is optional for both models, but this is a distinction to keep in mind.

2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV
Let’s squash any confusion immediately; despite the similar name, the Chevrolet Blazer EV has no mechanical relation to the gas-powered Chevrolet Blazer. It’s an entirely different, all-electric model with versatility and style worthy of the “Blazer” badging but with the technology, performance, and (lack of) emissions of a modern EV. Pricing starts at $50,195.
Chevrolet Blazer EV Highlights
Bigger screen: Both of these EVs have an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, but the infotainment display in the Blazer EV is quite a bit bigger than the one in the Honda Prologue. It’s a 17.7-inch screen that’s customizable and user-friendly.
Up to 324 miles of range: The Chevy Blazer EV has a longer maximum range than the Honda Prologue. The single-motor RWD variant of the Blazer EV achieves an impressive EPA-estimated range of up to 324 miles on a full charge. The dual-motor model has a 279-mile range, which is similar to the dual-motor Prologue.
Available Super Cruise: This is our favorite feature that’s optional on the Blazer EV, but unavailable on the Prologue. Super Cruise allows for hands-off-the-wheel, eyes-on-the-road driving on over 400,000 miles of North American highways. It’s one of the best systems of its kind that we’ve tested.

Similarities
Since the Honda Prologue and Chevy Blazer EV use the same architecture and are built in the same factory, they have an awful lot in common. However, their differences are great enough to make them stand out as distinct models.
Conclusion
The Honda Prologue is the one to get if Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is an absolute must-have feature or if you just prefer a more conservative design. The Blazer EV is the right choice if you want the best possible range or hands-free driving with Super Cruise. Whichever speaks to you more, we’d happily recommend either.
