The Honda Passport and Chevrolet Blazer are in the same vehicle class, but they are not the same vehicle. It becomes apparent right away when you look at the two midsize SUVs, which feature very different exterior styling. If you like the idea of a 2-row SUV that’s roomier than a compact, these are two good options in midsize SUVs.
Let’s take a closer look at the 2025 Honda Passport and 2025 Chevrolet Blazer and see how they compare.
2025 Honda Passport

The Honda Passport proves it’s still possible to get more than you pay for in a vehicle. This 2-row, 5-passenger SUV comes in just three trim levels — EX-L, TrailSport, and Black Edition — because the content level is so high on the entry-level EX-L. Out of the gate, the Passport comes equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) and leather seating, which are typically costly upgrades for vehicles in this class.
Powered by a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter 6-cylinder mated to a 9-speed automatic means plenty of power — it’ll tow 5,000 pounds — but you’ll pay the price if you have a heavy right foot. The Passport’s EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating is 21 mpg, which is better than some in the segment. However, if you’re tooling around off-road in the TrailSport package, there will be times when the extra oomph comes in handy.
The cabin offers plenty of space for five people, plus the cargo area behind the second row is 10 cubic feet larger than that of the Chevy Blazer. It also provides plenty of legroom for those in the second row. Pricing begins at $43,795, including destination fee.
Honda Passport Highlights
Locking technology: Courtesy of Smart Entry with Walk-Away Auto Lock technology, Passport owners don’t have to worry about security. The system locks the vehicle automatically as you walk away with the key fob.
Honda Sensing: This suite of safety and assistance technology improves safety and performance using a Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation Braking System.
Many standard features: Every Passport comes with leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, wireless charging, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and AWD. Prepare to pony up $2,700 if you want AWD on your Chevy Blazer.

2025 Chevrolet Blazer
2024 model shown
The Chevy Blazer enjoys an exterior look — athletic and muscular — that lives up to its name. That said, it borrows heavily from the Camaro muscle car, so it all makes sense. Thanks to a modest refresh for the 2023 model year, it’s still a head-turner.
The Blazer is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, putting out 228 hp, which is fine for getting around town. Again, if you want performance to equate to its looks, you’ll need to move up to the 308-hp 3.6-liter V6 for an additional $500. If you want AWD, that costs an extra — $2,700.
Once inside the Blazer, you will find a spacious cabin with plenty of convenience and safety technology. The ride is good and surprisingly quiet, courtesy of active noise cancellation. Handling all of the infotainment issues is a 10.2-inch touchscreen. Pricing begins at $36,795, including destination charge.
Chevrolet Blazer Highlights
Chevy Safety Assist: This standard suite of tech bundles driver assistance features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, forward collision alert, and automatic high beams.
Big screen: The Blazer features a 10.2-inch touchscreen standard. It’s easy to use, with barely a learning curve. It also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity.
Special editions: The Blazer offers two appearance packages; the Midnight Edition adds sleek black trim and black wheels, and the Redline Edition gives the Blazer 2LT and 3LT a sporty look without the added expense of upgrading to the RS trim. Unlike the Honda Passport, the Blazer doesn’t offer an off-road package.

Similarities
The Passport and Blazer offer many of the same good qualities, including spacious cabins, plenty of convenience technology, and attractive exteriors.
Conclusion
While they’re in the same category, they aren’t the same types of SUVs. Looking at them will tell you all you need to know. The Honda Passport, especially in TrailSport trim, looks ready to take you off to the woods. The Chevy Blazer looks like it will get you to work, soccer practice, or grocery shopping quickly. If you don’t need to drive on a dirt road, you can save a few bucks with the more affordable and efficient Blazer.
