In addition to its extra efficiency, the Pacifica Hybrid minivan shares many of the traits that make the standard Pacifica so appealing to families. It offers comfortable seating for seven, easy road manners, and lots of technology to bolster safe driving and to keep the kids entertained.
To get the maximum efficiency and the potential to lessen the frequency of gas station visits, you’ll have to plug in the Pacifica Hybrid to recharge its battery pack. The Toyota Sienna, on the contrary, comes standard as a hybrid with no need to plug in — but it doesn’t have the all-electric range of the Pacifica.
If you want all-wheel drive, you’ll need to look to the Sienna or the standard Chrysler Pacifica, which are reviewed separately. Also, note that at nearly $50,000, the Pacifica Hybrid has a higher cost of entry, though incentives such as the $7,500 federal tax credit can offset some of that.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid pricing starts at $30,638 for the Pacifica Hybrid Touring L Van 4D, which had a starting MSRP of $52,690 when new. The range-topping 2023 Pacifica Hybrid Pinnacle Van 4D starts at $36,856 today, originally priced from $62,390.

The Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price for any individual used vehicle can vary greatly according to mileage, condition, location, and other factors. We’re fans of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), even when the PHEV in question is a minivan. In fact, our editors racked up thousands upon thousands of miles in a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
Our takeaway after a year of driving one? We loved it. We found the ride quality comfortable, acceleration quick — that’s what happens when you have the instant torque of an electric motor — and this minivan even has the benefit of feeling agile and smaller than its dimensions suggest.
We observed the cabin to be moderately quiet, with fan noise for the electric motor intruding occasionally.
The Pacifica Hybrid is a good partner for both in-town driving and on the highway. In city duties, it can operate as an electric vehicle, and you might find yourself hardly ever (or ever) needing to fill up with gas if this is your primary environment. On the highway for longer treks, we appreciate the Pacifica Hybrid’s adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist function. It just makes freeway driving much less stressful.
Whereas the standard Pacifica minivan can seat up to eight if you opt for a second-row bench seat, that isn’t available in the Pacifica Hybrid. That means this version of the minivan seats seven people max. Also, unlike the standard Pacifica, the Pacifica Hybrid doesn’t offer Stow ’n Go seats in the second row due to the battery pack.
Like other minivans, however, the Pacifica Hybrid’s third row folds flat into the floor to create ample cargo space.
Seating comfort is another highlight of the Pacifica Hybrid across all rows. Second-row passengers are treated to captain’s seats, and even the third row can accommodate adults.
The driver’s seat easily adapts to various body shapes and sizes and provides a good view out, plus benefits from standard heating. If you live where it routinely gets hot, you might want to step up to a Limited or Pinnacle model, which includes ventilated front seats.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid doesn’t look like what you might think of as a green machine. In fact, it doesn’t look much different than the standard Pacifica minivan except for some badging and the small charge port door just aft the front wheels on the driver’s side.
That means if you like the distinct, swoopy silhouette of the Pacifica, you’ll like the style of the Pacifica Hybrid. It stands in contrast to the blocklike, SUV-leaning shape of the Kia Carnival.
1. Power liftgate/sliding doors
No longer will you have to deal with kids slamming the side doors or having to lift a heavy rear door. These are all power-operated as standard on the Pacifica Hybrid.
2. Hands-free power doors
If you want even easier access with hands full, Limited and Pinnacle models come with hands-free operation of the side doors and rear liftgate, or as an option on the Touring L trim.
3. Harman Kardon premium audio
Sometimes, Mom or Dad just need to rock out. And rock they can with this 20-speaker high-end audio system that’s standard in the Limited and Pinnacle models.
4. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
This standard feature offers convenience and one less thing you have to worry about — finding a cable to connect your phone.
5. FamCAM
This in-car camera allows you to keep an eye on the kids in the rear seats, which is especially helpful for little ones in rear-facing child seats. It’s standard in the Pinnacle and optional on the other trims.
The 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid pairs a V6 engine and two electric motors powered by a lithium-ion battery. Total horsepower is 260. The Pacifica Hybrid is only available in front-wheel drive and uses a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). On battery power alone, the Chrysler Pacifica can travel up to 32 miles. Combined with a full tank of gas, it’s rated to go up to 520 miles.
It takes an estimated 14 hours to charge the Pacifica Hybrid on a standard 120-volt home outlet. A better option is to install a 240-volt home charger, which cuts time to approximately two hours.
The EPA calculates the efficiency of plug-in hybrids like the Pacifica Hybrid with a method called miles per gallon equivalent, or MPGe. In this measure, the Pacifica Hybrid scores up to 82 MPGe. When operating as a conventional hybrid, it earns up to 30 mpg.
The EPA figures below are from the 2022 model, but we don’t expect a change for this model year.
3.6-liter V6/dual electric motors, 16 kWh battery
260 total system horsepower
EPA city/highway combined fuel economy: 30 mpg/82 MPGe
Battery-only range: 32 miles
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. The powertrain is covered for 5 years/60,000 miles, and the lithium-ion battery pack is backed by either a 10-year/150,000-mile warranty or an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty, depending on where you bought the vehicle and the state you live in.
