Positive Review
The new Coca Dune interior is very relaxing and quite luxurious. The LTZ is your best bargain for the buck.
Critical Review
Spent $64,000 on a truck that had radio issues, transmission issues, regen issues and surged when in regen mode. Radio would be stuck on full blast, clock wouldn’t hold correct time. Transmission would lock up the rear wheels when coming to a stop.

Under powered gas engine
Good towing capacity
The 6.0 gas vortec has the power and the 6.6 diesel, both engines paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission and the 6.0 vortec has 360 horsepower plus the 6.6 diesel has 445
Drives, handles and is reliable and powerful!
Hard to park in tight spots!
2018 Chevy High Country diesel 3500 single rear wheel standard bed crew cab 4x4. Bought this used with 9000 miles on it, no issues, some minor software updates and an engine block heater recall, twice. Truck is loaded and it’s my work/personal daily driver, tows anything I put behind it, carries 3000 pounds of equipment all the times and averages 20 mpg with a 25 mpg unloaded high and a low 13 mpg loaded and pulling an 8000 pound trailer in the mountains! The color is Cajun red tintcoat and is absolutely stunning with the black leather interior! A little big and hard to park in the city, but very well behaved, lots of on tap power even when loaded, Ford claims more hp, but I can take em’ at the start and lose em’ in the mountains, bought an 18 because chevy was going with a 10 speed transmission and 3.42 rear gears ( not good for towing!) in 2020, mine has 3.73 gears and a 6 speed Allison that’s always in the right gear and I’ve never had to use the tow/haul mode button! Keeping the 18 forever as I don’t like the looks of the new Chevy’s, apparently the dealership agrees, every time I go for service, they offer me more than I paid for it! Perfect truck, get one if you can!!!!!!
What can I say, love driving the beast. Feel saf
Over all size in tight places
Originally bought this truck to pull our 5th wheel RV . But over the last 3 years I have used it to get back and forth to work, pull the RV and tow other trailers. Never once had any doubt about what the Duramax engine would do and put many Dodge and Ford dually pickup to shame pulling my trailer up hills. It has never given me one reason to regret buying it. Have heard how rough they ride, well I have owned every make of full size American pick up and it rides great. And gas mileage is equal to them all. And as far as price I found it to be better priced than Ford or Dodge which I feel are far over priced for their flash and lack of gas. Just felt that for the money it was the best value for what you got.
Fun to drive and own. Strong and dependable!
Gas mileage isn't great. Small price to pay.
My 2019 Silverado 3500 HD with the Gas 6.0 has been a great truck so far. I've had it since it was new, I broke it in following the instructions in the owners manual and I've been very happy with it. I bought it as my old truck couldn't pull my 5th wheel. Fully loaded I'm pushing about 10,000 pounds. This truck handles the 5th wheel with ease. I went from a 1/2 ton to the 1 ton and the difference is night and day. The truck works hard, it goes easy down the road, and it's been a joy to tow with it. I do wish it had a little more getup and go when towing, however, I'm not drag racing and the diesel undoubtedly would be fulfill what I feel I'm lacking. I'm not saying it doesn't go, once you get into the sweet spot at the higher rpm's she like to go! I'm also impressed with how the truck handles towing going through the hilly and windy terrain of ND. It performs flawlessly every time. The temps stay low on the mechanicals, the cooled seats are so nice during the hot summer months, and the truck is very comfortable. One little thing that surprised me was when I went to back in to hitch up my 5th wheel. I can see the hitch plane as day when I go to line it up. I just turn my head and there it is. It was a nice little surprise that my F150 didn't offer. The box seems to be lower and the back window is bigger on the Silverado where you can see the hitch perfectly. This has been especially helpful when I'm setting up to go. It's actually taken a lot of time out of the equation which is always a plus! Another thing I love is that I haven't had to modify or change anything. On the F150 I had airbags, 10 ply tires, a RoadMaster Active Suspension installed and those helped, nothing compared to the factory everything the Silverado came with. I realize this isn't an apples to apples comparison to my previous truck. The F150 I had just wasn't equipped to do what I needed it to do. Overall, the Silverado 3500 is a good truck. I enjoy having it, my kids love it, they always want to take the truck. If you're looking for a hardworking, stylish, and overall reliable truck the 3500 is a great choice!
You bet! Drives and feels strong!
Nothing I can think of.
Replaced my 2013 2500HD with this vehicle and this truck is even better, power, style, comfort- love it. Looking forward to my 2021 High Country coming soon.
basic truck works for me
emission problems
had emission problems
Power and comfort.
Def tank and fill up location
I tow a 11,000lb trailer and barely know it’s there. Only complaint is with placement of def tank and fill up. The price was the decision maker for going with a 2019 instead of 2020.
