Positive Review

"Great work truck!"

I bought this truck new in July 2013.It is just a basic work truck with the 4.8 engine.I have never had a problem with the truck. The styling is very appealing and it drives great. The quality of build is good.No rattles or squeaks. The handling is very good and it has good performance. The gas mileage could be better only 16 in town and it has a 35 gal fuel tank.I would definitely buy another Silverado probably an Ls or Lt with 4wd.within a year or two.If it had a cd player and power locks and windows the truck would be perfect!

tough truck
Pros

pulling power, tough.

Cons

the only con that mine had was it was 2wd

It was the best truck iv ever owned so far. even thought it was a 2wd it was a pulling s.o.b. I pulled a single wide trailer 3 feet off its blocks, and i towed a 5500lb mini excavator and a 20 ft equipment trailer and it was like it wasn't even back there. It got totaled out by a Kid when he rear ended me at 50mph plus.

Hybrid/Electric means HIGH REPAIR COSTS
Pros

None

Cons

HIGH REPAIR COSTS

Happy New Year to me. My Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid service Hybrid Light came on. My local dealership tells me it's only $8,000.00 to replace it. Kelly Blue Book value on the vehicle now without the repair is $11,000.00. BTW-My internet research says I can get a replacement battery for around $3,000.00. No idea what the installation would be. Bottom line folks, If you get a Hybrid or Electric vehicle, be ready for sticker shock if the battery ever fails. I'll be sticking with Gas Power for a while, the price of fill-ups is way less than $8K. Anybody want a Chevy Silverado? Has a little post-it note sticker covering an annoying message light on the panel. LOL

Best pick up I ever owned

I currently have 192,000 miles on my 2013 Chevy Silverado crew cab. I bought it with a round 100,000 miles and haven’t had to do anything major to it at all. I continue to do maintenance upkeep and it keeps on going and going it tows well and even towed more than what it is rated at and I was very pleased with the towing package. I average around 18 miles a gallon, which is quite pleasing for a truck this size although I’ve heard horror stories about the 2014 and newer. I’m very glad I got the 2013 which doesn’t have any major issues.

LOVE MY SILVERADOS!
Pros

ALL THE AREAS LISTED ABOVE

Cons

IN THE FUTURE, WOULD OPT FOR CREW CAB OVER THE EXTENDED CAB

PURCHASED A NEW 2001 SILVERADO-EXTENDED CAB 1500 V8, 5.3L VORTEX ENGINE. LOVED IT SO MUCH THAT I BOUGHT ANOTHER NEW SILVERADO 2007. STILL HAVE IT TODAY AT 89,000 MILES. RUNS GREAT! SUPER QUIET! REGULAR PREVENTED MAINTENANCE: REPLACED ALL HOSES AND BELTS AT 80,000 MILES, INCLUDING GOODYEAR LS-2 TIRES AND BRAKES. PLAN TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND CABLES AT 100,000 MILES. VERY HAPPY CAMPER! -----LARS

2008 Chevrolet Pickup

This truck was bought new in 2008. At present the mileage is 44,640 miles. Never been in an accident, finish is excellent, inside and out. It has always been serviced regularly, and has almost new tires. Truck has always been in a covered garage or shop.

Great truck
Pros

Dependable, comfortable, nice to drive, hauls great, 4WD is great

Cons

Front differential has had some troubles, seats fabric wore out quickly, occasionally trailer electric can get a little finicky

At 225,000 I can say this has been an awesome truck. Only major repairs have been the front differential. Hauls the horses, gone on some bad roads in the mountains, really love this truck.

Reliable truck
Pros

Reliable, parts are readily available and cheap

Cons

Dash and door locks rattle on bumpy roads

I bought my 2010 silverado LT crew cab 2wd 5.3 with 150,000 miles on it. It was a one owner clean car fax. I now have over 263,000 miles and aside from regular maintenance, all I've had to replace or fix was the electronic throttle body. Been a fantastic reliable truck. If you maintain them, the 5.3 and the 6 speed automatic transmission will last over 250,000 miles
