Positive Review
I had this car for one year (LsI version, automatic) and I had no problems with it; I bought it used and beside few aesthetic problems, the car was running great. I drove it for about 5,000 miles and the only reason why I do not possess it anymore, it's because I had a bad accident that destroyed it. Although some reviewers are not enthusiastic about its performances, I found them very satisfying, instead: the overdrive system power down the car in order to limit the gas consumption, but if you don't use it, you will have a very reactive and fun-to-drive car with very little expense of gas. Decent acceleration, excellent brakes and ABS. The trunk is wide enough to load two big bags. Too bad, the back seats were not so comfortable. I'm pretty tall, so I had to slide back the driver's seat; that leaves little comfort to the passengers on the back. Despite of that, the seat is comfortable enough. Due to my accident, I can also testify that the car is designed to absorb even great impacts, making it safe. I was hit on the back while I was standing on the road, by a sedan that was running at 50 mph. The car crashed against a SUV that was standing in front of me. The car was trashed but I get only a cracked rib despite the seriousness of the crash.
Critical Review
We bought this used 3 years ago. It was well rated by Consumer Reports. It runs fairly well, but its body and interior integrity are horrible. We wash and wax our cars 2-3 times a year. It is rusting in several places. We have replaced driver door latch and hood latch. Both broke. Both had been already replaced by previous owner. The plastic trim around each door is coming off and scratching one in the head. The cruise has never worked since we bought it. The washer fluid has never been able to be usedd. It now burns oil. It drains down in speed rapidly when you take your foot off the gas.

Handling mileage interior brakes reliability
Very potholes will knock your socks off if you hit them straight on very low so in the modern world sometimes it's tough to see
I bought this car used in 2008 it never let me down went to Florida twice Wisconsin five times surprisingly well equipped with nice interior stereo great cast extra wide Wheels. Also had a large truck for the size car it was! It was a low and light car so it bounced around a bit on the New York City / Jersey potholes. Got 30 plus miles to the gallon on the highway and 25 City. Finally couldn't pass inspection because the check engine light came on and it cost too much to fix that was in 2017. Got a new battery and tires and had to replace two clamps on the exhaust system the whole time I had it...they don't make them it like this anymore I almost want to buy another one in mint shape cuz I liked it so much!
Very nice car for around town, handles well.
Back seat not good for passengers
I inherited this car from my Dad. 67000 miles now has 98000. Such a fun car to drive! had to get new brakes and rebuilt left brake line. I love how it handles getting into tight spaces . Check engine light just came on and I need a new O2 sensor. doesn't use oil. kept up with basic maintenance and filter changes yearly. Just a nice car to zip around town in. I have 2 people wanting to buy it but sentimental value is still strong for me. Every time I think about selling it I just can't let it go.
Had my Chevy Prizm for over 20 years with no engine trouble. After raising 4 kids in her, she was cosmetically challenged, but was still going strong when I was forced to turn her in due to a weather-related auto accident. I miss my car!!
Well like I said it's a wonderful vehicle on the s

new tires
one dent
This car was owned by my aunt and then my mother they were older and barely drove this car since 2002. It has 49627 miles on it as of now. It is very clean it has one minor dent in it other wise body is like new barely any rust and it very dependable starts right up every time it's had all of the maintenance kept up with as far as tune ups oil oil filter and plugs plug wires and more. Most dependable used car I've ever had
Its very reliable
It is small
This is my first car. It's very easy to work on if anything pops up. All I've had to deal with is changing lights and fuses. The car is older but still reliable and good for its year. I passed my license test in this car, drove 3000 miles so far. it's done me so very well. I'm amazed with its reliability. I love my patty wagon.
Reliable. Minimal repairs. Handles well.
Consumes oil. Not the best ride on the highway.
I purchased my Prizm back in 2013 with around 115,000. It currently has 151,000 miles and running strong. I am actually looking at picking up a second Prizm I found for less miles. They are hard to come by. It is a reliable, basic vehicle that handles well. It does consume oil, an issue I've heard with this model, but doesn't deter me from keeping the car around. I just keep a few quarts of oil in the trunk. Minimal upkeep and repairs. One of the best cars I've owned!
