Like McDonald’s adding an extra week of McRib sales, Jeep has given customers a little extra time to order the most popular special color it makes.
Today, the company announced that Tuscadero Pink, scheduled to leave the Wrangler order queue, will stick around through the end of December. The $395 paint option gets its name from the character Pinky Tuscadero from the Happy Days sitcom.
“We expected Tuscadero to be popular, and the customer response has been overwhelmingly strong,” said Jim Morrison, vice president and head of Jeep brand North America.
But, “it’s so popular we’re extending production into 2022 model-year production to meet strong customer demand. Customers can place an order through December of this year,” he said.
Since Jeep introduced the color for a limited run, more than 30,000 buyers have taken home a Tuscadero Pink Wrangler. That’s more than other limited-edition colors like a neon green Jeep calls Gecko.
