The 2021 Kia Forte is a 5-passenger sedan that offers plenty of technology, safety, and features for an affordable price. When outfitted with all available features, it rivals other sedans like the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
There are six trims of the 2021 Kia Forte, but if you’re looking to max out your sedan, step up to the top of the line Kia Forte GT and then add all the available packages. The GT starts at $22,790. If you add in all the bells and whistles you possibly can, you’re looking at a grand total of $27,825 (including a $995 destination charge). Here’s a quick overview of what you get for that price.
- 201-horsepower turbocharged engine
- Sport styling inside and out with blacked-out trim
- LED headlights with auto-leveling
- High Beam Assist
- Sport-tuned exhaust
- 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
- 18-inch 2-tone alloy wheels
- Sport seats with artificial leather and cloth seat trim with red stitching
- GT2 Package (more below): $2,000
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink: $350
- Remote Start key fob: $495
- Paint protection: $200
Here’s a look at a few highlights that are included in this long list:
GT2 Package
The GT2 package adds many bells and whistles you’d probably want on your top-of-the-line Kia Forte GT. It includes features like an upgraded Harmon Kardon audio system with 320 watts, 8-speakers and an integrated subwoofer, a power sunroof, and sport seats that are both heated and ventilated.
Turbocharged 1.6-liter Engine
The heart of the 2021 Kia Forte GT is its turbocharged 1.6-liter engine. This powerplant cranks out 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. That’s considerably more than the standard Forte 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The GT’s output is delivered to the front axle via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with sequential-shift paddles. A 6-speed manual is available as an option, something that should delight driving enthusiasts.
Added Safety Features
With the addition of the GT2 package, the Forte comes with a suite of added safety features that we think are well worth the investment. They include features like blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, forward collision assistance with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control.
Standard 8-inch touchscreen
Every Kia Forte gets an 8-inch touchscreen, and it is one of our favorite features on the car. It’s in a perfect spot and has a handy row of hard buttons below to help you quickly get to the screen you want. The system also offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
