The auto industry is in the process of going electric.
About 3.2% of new cars sold in America in 2021 were electric, per Kelley Blue Book data. In 2022, that figure rose to 5.8%. By the end of 2023, it will likely be higher, with Americans buying more than a million electric cars for the first time.
Every automaker will likely have an electric car or two for sale within a year or two.
