Tuscadero Pink: Jeep Brings Back Cult Favorite Color

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler in Tuscadero Pink

A lesser company wouldn’t have been able to make a Barbie reference — even a year too late. However, Jeep makes its own trends.

Who else, after all, could make leaving rubber ducks on strangers’ cars into a cool hat-tip gesture? Jeep lovers have their own language.

They prefer their pink as a reference to a 1970s sitcom.

Jeep is bringing back a cult favorite color for a limited run. Tuscadero Pink gets its name from the character Pinky Tuscadero from the “Happy Days” sitcom. If that’s too niche for you, you’re probably not interested in an open-top off-roader as a daily driver. Some people are into it.

The color is already live on the Wrangler ordering page. Jeep launched it on April 4, a holiday only Jeep recognizes. They call it 4×4 day (get it?).

The company says the color is “part of a lengthy lineup of vivid, special-run, limited-edition colors, including Gobi, Gecko, Chief, and Nacho, that add customization and appeal to Jeep Wrangler and other Jeep brand models.” The last time they offered it, in 2021, more than 30,000 customers jumped for it, and the company had to extend its run to meet demand.

Tuscadero Pink is available on the  Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, and Rubicon 392 trim levels, adding $895 to the order price — the same price Jeep charges for many less-interesting premium shades.

Tuscadero Pink is a limited-edition color, but Jeep doesn’t say how limited. Shoppers can order it today “paired with a black hardtop, body-color hardtop, or black soft-top. The Sky One-Touch powertop in Tuscadero will be available in late Q2 2024,” Jeep says.
