Toyota RAV4, Lexus NX Recalled Over Loose Brakes, Wheels

Toyota and its Lexus luxury division have recalled 70 vehicles because their front brake calipers and wheel hub bearings may be loose.

Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:

Toyota tells federal safety officials at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that mounting bolts holding the front brake calipers and hub bearings on may not have been tightened properly at the factory. They may loosen over time, which can cause the caliber brake hose to break, leak brake fluid, and lessen the brakes’ effect.

It could also cause a front wheel to separate.

Owners might notice a rattling noise as the problem develops, Toyota says.

Dealers will fix the problem by tightening the bolts to the proper specification.
