Toyota and its Lexus luxury division have recalled 858 vehicles because their fuel pumps can fail.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2018 Toyota Camry
- 2019 Lexus NX
- 2019 Lexus RX
Toyota tells federal safety regulators that one batch of low-pressure fuel pumps received from a supplier had impeller blades that can deform over time, slowing or stopping the pump. That can lead to “illumination of check engine and master warning indicators, rough engine running, engine no start and/or vehicle stall.”
Dealers will replace the fuel pump to fix the problem. Recall repairs, by law, are free.
Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely get them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
