If you’re looking for a 3-row family SUV with substantial cargo space and are not sure the Toyota Highlander quite meets your needs, we have good news. The stretched Grand Highlander, with its additional third-row space and extra cargo room, doesn’t cost much more than a comparable Highlander.
Toyota assumes that anyone shopping for the longer version wants a certain level of equipment to begin with. So the least-expensive Grand Highlander is an XLE model, based on a mid-level trim of the Highlander. The 2024 Grand Highlander XLE starts at $43,070 — just $1,050 more than the 2023 Highlander XLE. Prices rise to $58,125 for a fully-equipped Grand Highlander Hybrid MAX Platinum.
Toyota also charges a separate $1,335 destination fee.
Our Micah Muzio drove the Grand Highlander and spent time in all three rows. His verdict? “If what you want is a Toyota 3-row SUV” smaller than a Sequoia “and you’re comfortable spending at least 43 grand to get it, congratulations.”
