Tesla has raised prices on its high-end Model S sedan and Model X SUV. Both see a $2,000 price increase at every trim level.
The move comes as sales for both models appear to be dropping off. Kelley Blue Book parent company Cox Automotive estimates that Tesla has sold about 10% fewer of each so far in 2024 than in the same period of last year. Its popular Model 3 sedan has seen a more severe drop-off, nearly 35%.
Its best-selling Model Y SUV has almost held study, with a 1% sales drop. The striking Cybertruck, new to the market this year, has been a sales success. Last month, it was the fastest-selling vehicle in America priced over $100,000.
