Tesla Motors has announced a new Certified Pre-Owned program for all versions of its Model S Sedan in North America. In order for any Model S to qualify for consideration, it’s first subjected to a stringent 200+ point inspection by authorized Tesla Service Technicians. Cars that do pass muster will be offered with prices starting from $55,000.

All Tesla CPO-spec Model S Sedans will come with a 4-year/50,000-mile Limited Warranty which begins on the date of delivery. They’ll also retain the balance of the Tesla Battery and Drive Unit Warranty (8-years/125,000 miles for 60kWh cars and 8-years/unlimited miles for 85kWh vehicles) as well as 24-Hour Roadside Assistance over the balance of their respective warranty periods. Each car also will come with a CarFax Vehicle History Report in the United States.

Tesla is currently rolling out its CPO program in various markets across the country. These include Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Cleveland, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay areas in California plus Seattle, Washington as well as Florida, Hawaii, New York and Washington D.C.
