Jeep has recalled just 14 Grand Cherokee SUVs from model years 2022 through 2024 and Grand Cherokee L SUVs from model years 2021 through 2024 because their airbags might not deploy in an accident.
The company tells federal safety officials that “an improperly secured connector for the front seat side airbags (SAB) may prevent the airbags from deploying.”
Drivers will have some warning. “An airbag warning light will illuminate if the condition is present.”
The company says the problem has already been corrected. “Warranty records show these repairs occurred between Oct. 4, 2021, and June 3, 2024,” Jeep tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
