Subtle is the order of the day when it comes to the latest round of updating for the smart fortwo. The Euro-spec version of this diminutive city car will make its formal debut next month at Geneva with its American cousin — that shares virtually all of the key changes – putting in its first appearance in 2013 U.S. trim at the New York Auto Show in April. While the basic mechanical package carries over intact, the revamped smart fortwo does gain more dynamic exterior detailing, starting with a larger grille and integrated logo flanked by new LED daytime running lights. The side skirts and rear fascia also add more interesting sculpting, which will be complemented by some new alloy wheel options and paint colors. Inside the smart fortwo will offer a new leather interior option and gain a few minor trim tweaks. We’ll have more details from Geneva and a U.S. specific followup from New York.
