Redesigned 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Starts at $37,390

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is an entirely new design. It wears a handsome new two-tone look and offers an available plug-in hybrid drivetrain for the first time. Prices will start at $37,390, though it’s possible to spend over $70,000 for a top-of-the-line version with all the trimmings.

Jeep hasn’t revealed pricing for the plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokee 4xe yet, but prices for the rest of the lineup are here. Jeep has promised to build an electric or plug-in vehicle in every segment of the SUV market within four years.

It’s also worth noting that Jeep this year introduced a larger, 3-row version called the Grand Cherokee L. Its trim structure is nearly identical, with prices running approximately $1,300 higher at every trim.

Seven Trim Levels

Grand Cherokee buyers have a lot of options to choose from for this 2-row model.

Even the base Laredo trim offers a full suite of automated safety equipment, adaptive cruise control, and lane management. Cloth seats with a leather-wrapped steering wheel are standard. It is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 putting out 290 horsepower. All Grand Cherokees use an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Altitude model adds heated seats, remote start, a heated steering wheel, power liftgate, and wireless phone charging.

The Limited adds leather seating, heated seats for rear-seat passengers, and a drive mode selector for different terrain conditions.

The Trailhawk starts the stable off-road-oriented models that Jeep builds its reputation on. It offers the Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system, a 2-speed transfer case with low range and a rear electronic limited-slip differential, and unique front and rear fascias to improve approach, departure, and breakover angles. It’s also the least expensive model available with a 5.7-liter V8 making 357 horsepower.

Overland editions get a finer grain of Nappa leather, teak trim, ventilated seats, and an Alpine audio system.

A luxurious Summit trim adds quilted seats with perforated inserts, front seat massagers, real oak trim, and an entertainment package complete with Amazon Fire TV.

The top-of-the-line Summit Reserve competes with luxury SUVs with its hand-wrapped, quilted Palermo leather, open-pore Waxed Walnut wood, ventilated second-row seats, and a super-premium 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.
