Toyota is recalling about 42,000 Venza hybrid crossovers because water can seep into their turn signals, creating an electrical short. That could dim or deactivate the turn signals.
Toyota is recalling all vehicles built with a particular bulb that is susceptible to the problem. But most Venza hybrids may never develop the issue. Factors like driving style, exposure to car washes, and weather where you live can all play into whether or not your Venza’s rear turn signal develops a leak. But, to be safe, the manufacturer would rather replace them all.
Dealers will correct the issue by replacing the bulb with one of a different design. In some cases, they may replace the lamp assembly and the bulb.
