In an age of ever-advancing car technology, Ram has recalled 31,676 trucks for the most old-fashioned of reasons: their side mirror glass may fall off.
The recall applies only to Ram 1500 Classic pickups from model years 2020 through 2023 equipped with towing packages. The towing package gives the truck larger side mirrors.
The company tells federal safety officials that driver’s side mirrors may not be properly glued to their backing plates, and can fall off.
Dealers will replace the mirror glass with new adhesive to fix the problem.
