Nissan and its Infiniti luxury division have recalled 37,236 vehicles because their rearview cameras can fail.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2024-2025 Nissan Rogue SL and Platinum trim levels
- 2025 Infiniti QX80
The company tells federal safety officials at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that, for cars manufactured on certain dates, a voltage problem can leave the rearview camera image blank when the vehicle is in reverse.
The company is aware of no related accidents or injuries but has had 29 field reports of the problem.
Dealers will fix it with a software update. Because these vehicles can’t receive the update over the air, owners must bring them to a dealership to have the patch installed.
Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. They try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, but they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
