Nissan and its Infiniti luxury division have recalled about 350 cars because their airbags may malfunction. The number of affected vehicles is short, but the list of models included in the recall is long.

It includes the:

The company tells federal safety officials that the affected vehicles may lack specific gaskets, allowing moisture into airbag inflators. That infiltration could cause the inflators to malfunction, which might reduce airbag performance.

The company knows of no injuries or accidents related to the problem, which the airbag supplier discovered.

Dealers will replace the relevant airbag assemblies entirely to correct the problem. By law, dealers never charge for recall repairs.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of cars on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to determine if your car is one of them.
